Formerly a mere barangay of Infanta, it was created
into a municipal district with seat of government consisting
of the barrios of Llavac, Cawayan, Capalong, Tignoan,
Kiloloron and Lubayat which were all segregated from
the mother town by virtue of Executive Order No. 410
dated December 15, 1960 by President Carlos P. Garcia.
Then on June 22, 1963 by virtue of Republic Act 3654,
Real with all the barrios of Ungos, Maragondon, Poblacion
61, Poblacion 01, Malapad and Tanauan was created into
a regular municipality. Municipal Officials were appointed
with the leadership of Richardo Macasaet as the Mayor.
The first election was in 1963 with Lazaro A. Atendido
Sr. as the Municipal Mayor.
