Creation of Castle - Fortress

The Spaniards learned that the area is getting progressive and learned of the frequent visits and harassment's brought by the Moros and bandits. To secure the area, the people built a castle and a fortress in one on the land bridges and land strips the connect Balute and Ungos.
The castle - fortress was called "Puerto - Real" or Royal Port because it closely resembled royal castles in Spain and other foreign countries. This castle was fenced with round hard logs and a deep moot surround the castle. The tall watch towers of the castle served as watch view decks of the surrounding to prevent surprise attack of the bandits.
On 1889, the Spaniards constructed large warehouse on the eastern wing of the castle to provide livelihood and protection to the people. They use this house to produce and edible chuck of salt called "tap-ong" while the rest of the house for transients who evacuated from the attacks of bandits.
