I was born in Taiwan on May 20, 1976. I moved to the bay area in 1983, when I was just six years old. I graduated in 1999 from University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Chinese.

From 1997 to 1998, I studied abroad and attended Peking University in China. It was an awesome experience and fueled a passion in me to travel.

After finishing school, I stayed in Santa Barbara for the summer to lounge around and soak up the rest of that Santa Barbara atmosphere. In September of 1999, I finally made the move home. It was weird moving back home because I haven't lived with my parents for over 5 years.

I worked at the San Jose Mercury News in Advertising Sales for over a year and a half, living it up in the bay area. During this time, I finally made enough money to be able to go to my dream place, Egypt. I went to Egypt in October of 2000. From then on, I wanted to travel at least once a year. So in 2001, I went to Hawaii in March and then to Turkey and Greece in June. All the travelling made me realize how bored I was in the bay. As luck with have it, the right opportunity came at the right time.

Fall 2001, I moved to Shanghai and did an internship for Microsoft. Shanghai is an amazingly modern city to live and play in. I loved the community atmosphere. The fruit lady always knew what I wanted to buy. The restaurant downstairs never had to ask which apartment I was calling from to deliver my food. My dry cleaner knew me as Miss Reah. Nice to feel like I was a part of something.

In March 2002, I moved back to the bay briefly before moving on to Los Angeles - well, Hollywood. It's been real fun so far, sometimes crazy and irritating, but overall, I try to enjoy the time here.

Living through the 20s of my life, it's still not clear what it is that really drives me in life. I still like to be a drifter. Like that famous commencement speech, "Some of the most interesting people I know, didn't know what they want to do at 22... And some of the most interesting 40 years olds I know still don't." That is probably going to be me at 40.

My interests:

FILMS: I love movies, all genres and all kinds. I believe there are no bad movies. Every film has some aspect that makes it great.

MUSIC: How can anyone not love music? I love all kinds of music but, of course, prefer certain genres over others. I love R&B, Alternative, Trip Hop, etc. I grew up listening to R&B and that will always be my great love. I also love my 80s modern rock and is a big fan of groups like Erasure, Duran Duran, and Depeche Mode. I have a growing collection of hard stuff like Rage Against the Machine, Korn, Deftones, etc. My SB roots made me really fond of Alternative bands like Staind, Default, Coldplay, etc. Then again, one of my all time favorite female vocals is Ella Fitzgerald.
