| Unfortunately, Ou Yang Feng did not experience the same enlightenment and became obsessed with the book. When the great Taoist died, he broke through Chong Yang Palace to get it but to his utter disappointment, he found out that the book had been burned a long time ago. The loss drove Ou Yang Feng to the brink of madness. When the story is finished, Hong Qi Gong assures Yang Guo that he should not be worried about his godfather for he plans on forfeiting the fight. But as he starts to leave, Ou Yang Feng jumps up and attacks him once more, giving him no choice but to defend himself. Yang Guo stands by helplessly, knowing that if they don't stop[ soon, both of them may die. He feels torn between loyalty to his godfather and his respect for Hong Qi Gong. Finally, when their chi energies are exhausted, both masters collapse to the ground. Yang Guo takes care of them inside a cave but even then, when their bodies are too tired to move, the two masters continue to hurl challenges at each other. Suddenly, Hong Qi Gong gets an idea and calls the reluctant Yang Guo to his side. He has decided to show Ou Yang Feng how superior the Beat the Dog Stick style is. (NOTE: Beat the Dog Stick is the special technique of Beggar Sect that is passed on only by the leader to his successor.) Hong Qi Gong plans on teaching the style to Yang Guo who would in turn perform it for Ou Yang Feng's inspection. At first, Yang Guo refuses but at Ou Yang Feng's urging, he finally accepts. Hong Qi Gong teaches him all thirty-six styles yet each time, Ou Yang Feng discovers a weak spot in the moves. At last, Hong Qi Gong is down to his last move, called no Dog Escapes.
