Name: King Graham of Daventry
Aliases: Sir Graham of Daventry
Age: Somewhere in his late 40s to early 50s (possibly with some prematurely gray hair)
Race & Gender: Human Male
Status (as of conclusion of MOE): Current king of Daventry, alive
Residence: Castle Daventry, Kingdom of Daventry
Personality: King Graham is a loyal, kind trustworthy, brave, and adventurous individual with a strong sense of a right and wrong. You might call him a Boy Scout...at first glance. Graham's biggest character flaw is that he expects an equal amount of courtesy from everyone as he gives to everyone, which means getting something in return for everything he does.
History:

Not a lot is known about King Graham's childhood. What is known is that he was raised by his father, also an adventurer who Graham had much respect for, and was friends with a boy named Malvolio.
Malvolio once hit a ball over a wall onto King Edward the Benevolent's head. To save his friend from what we believed would be a torturous end, Graham took the blame for the incident himself. This was the first time Graham showed his chivalrous nature, but was certainly not the last.
History seems to have forgotten much of what occured to Graham between the events in the gardens near Castle Daventry and his quest for the Three Lost Treasures of Daventry. Somehow, he rose through the ranks of Knighthood and became King Edward's First Knight. Thus, he was chosen to go out and find the Three Lost Treasures of Daventry; Merlin's Mirror, the Chest of Gold, and the Shield of Achille. Due to the hopelessness of the quest, Graham searched everywhere for clues and hints about the whereabouts of the three treasures.
He climbed trees, swam in lakes, checked under rocks, and basically traveled the land of Daventry searching for the three treasures.
Eventually he stumbled upon an elf who gave him a ring to make Graham invisible, simply in thanks for Graham's kindness. This was but the first person he would encounter through his journeys, but not certainly not the last. He also encountered his fairy godmother, who cast a protection spell upon him.
He also discovered the house of the evil witch, Dahlia, slipped inside while she was gone and hid. The witch had stolen the Chest of Gold, he knew, and she was still a threat to Daventry. When the witch returned to her home and began to mix some kind of noxious brew, Graham shoved her in. With no one living in the house, he raided her pantry and took a note from her bedside table.
Graham encountered the starving family of a woodcutter and his wife living not far from Castle Daventry. Offering them a magic bowl he had found, they gratefully gave him their fiddle.
The next feat Graham succeeded in was actually recovering one of the treasures. After diving beneath an ancient old well, Graham discovered the secret lair of a dragon. The Dragon had been set to guard Merlin's Mirror. Armed with a bucket of water, and hoping to distract the fire-breathing beast, Graham threw the water at the dragon. When the smoke cleared, the mirror was free for the taking and Graham quickly claimed it. When he looked into the mirror, he saw himself wearing a crown. Feeling hopeful, Graham went on his way.
The next person Graham ran into was not quite as helpful as his Fairy Godmother had been. A troll bridge wanted to prevent Graham from crossing a bridge. Impressing himself with his own cleverness, Graham attracted an old Billy Goat to the bridge and watched as the goat sent the troll into the water. Then, he crossed the bridge and met an old gnome who wanted Graham to guess his name. When Graham had succeeded in guessing it, the gnome handed him some magic beans. Graham planted the beans and climbed the giant beanstalk to cloudland. Using his ring of invisibility (the gift from the elf) to hide, Graham waited for the giant to fall asleep and then grabbed the Chest of Gold that the huge being had been guarding. Then, he descended through some eerie caves back to Daventry. Spotting a giant condor flying around, Graham grabbed onto its claws and was air-lifted across a river.
He plucked up a mushroom from the bank of river, and descended into a hole that had a green glow in it. After feeding a rather large and hungry rat, and playing music to distract some leprechaun guards, he found himself in a Leprechaun Throne Room. The Leprechauns celebrated their way out of the room, to where Graham couldn't say, and left a scepter and the Shield of Achille for him to take. Then, he left the room and ate the mushroom. That shrunk him down to a small enough size that he could leave through a miniscule hole in a rock, and make it back to Castle Daventry.
As he entered Castle Daventry, it became pretty clear, pretty fast that something was wrong. He hurried into the throne room to find that the entire court was there, clearly anticipating King Edward's death (are they sick people or what? Anyways...) Graham bowed respectfully to his leige, and displayed the three treasures for him. Having seen the quest fulfilled, Edward died and the crown was passed to Graham.
King Graham led Daventry through a year of prosperity and growth. He forged alliances with other kingdoms and helped the kingdom of Daventry rise to a place of power once again. Unfortunately, he was alone through all of this. He could feel the pangs of loneliness and they made him slightly absent-minded. Fortunately, he had the help of a new minister of war and defense, Gervain. After a year of being on the throne, King Edward appeared in the magic mirror and warned Graham that he needed a bride.
How hard could finding a bride be after finding three missing treasures? Graham held a ball and invited every maiden in the land. The ball was completely, completely uneventful, and didn't help Graham lose his "single" status. Soon after, however, Graham was shown what he needed to do. The magic mirror showed Graham the land of Kolyma, and the beautiful Valanice, locked high in a tower. So Graham set off on his quest.
After arriving in Kolyma, Graham helped a young girl, tricked his way into a library membership, tricked a dishonest merchant, and reunited a family of swans, as well as aiding a family of pumpkins twice. None of that, however, seemed to help him find what he needed to. After much exploration, Graham discovered the Door of Destiny. The Door told him what he needed to do. Graham did some trading in town, and set off towards water, "though not the type to quench your thirst" as the Door had told him. At the beach, Graham met a mermaid.

After befriending her by returning a shell comb to her, she kissed him so he could breath underwater, and brought him a seahorse to ride on. Then, she brought him to her father, Neptune. Neptune sent Graham on a quest to retrieve his stolen trident. Once Graham succeeded, Graham was given the Birth Gem of Water--the first gem needed to open the Door of Destiny.

Then, he used the magic carpet and took to the sky! Finding himself on top of a mountain, he hypnotized a snake that was bizarrely sitting there, and went into a cave. The cave was the home of an enchanter, and Graham used the spell book there to create an emerald that would protect him from his enchantments and dispel other enchantments. Soon, the enchanter arrived and found Graham in his lair. However, because of the emerald, the enchanter was powerless against the king and was chased out of Kolyma forever. After searching the cave, he found a curious rhyme on the wall. Then, Graham used his emerald on the snake outside the cave and transformed it into a Winged Steed. After a brief discussion with the Steed, in which Graham learned that the second gem was possessed by something called the Cloud Spirit, but that Graham had to find a silver bridle belonging to the Steed before they could go to the Spirit. Graham returned to Kolyma with his carpet, found the bridle in a pile of stones, and then used his carpet to go back to the mountain.
The Winged Steed then brought Graham to the Cloud Spirit, who put Graham through a number of tests. Unfortunately, Graham does not remember these tests at all. Little did he realize that the tests were simply parts of his life that the Cloud Spirit thought were particularily helpful in judging Graham's character. Graham retrieved the Growth Gem of Air from the Cloud Spirit, climbed back onto the Winged Steed and was flown back to Kolyma in time for nightfall.
He decided to visit the Church of the Faith, which opened its doors at nightfall. The monk there gave him a silver crucifix, and he also found a strange poem in a book that was in a pew. As he left the church, he witnessed the monk talking to some wolves...and then beginning to change into one himself! Unnerved, he set off to find out what to do next. As he did, he encountered Possum, crying, in the woods. She informed him that she had been mugged by a dwarf, and then she headed off towards her Grandmother's house. Graham went to a house he had seen in the woods but not visited, suspecting that it might be the dwarf's. He was right, and snuck inside after luring the dwarf out, retrieving Possum's stolen soup and some gold coins that were clearly from the Chest of Gold.
Graham brought the soup to Grandma's house, heated it up, and then served it Grandma. She gave Graham a cloak and a ring and then told him the story of how she had gotten them--from her husband. Graham put on the cloak and ring, and left. He knew he had to head into the mysterious swamp, and he could put it off no longer.
After finding his way through the swamp with the help of the mysterious poem from the church, Graham paid the ferryman coins from the dwarf's house and ate a magic sugar cube he'd gotten from the Winged Steed to make him immune to the poisonous thorns that grew on the island that sat in the middle of the swamp. The ferryman brought Graham to the island. Graham unlocked the door to the castle using the crucifix, made his way to the basement of the castle, and found the Dark Gem of Death. It seemed easy. Until, that is, Count Caldaur appeared. As there had been plenty of clues pinning Caldaur as Grandma's husband, Graham showed Caldaur the ring she had given him. Caldaur vanished but left Graham locked in the castle. Graham, in a moment of desperation, climbed out the window. He was presently attacked by bats and fell off.
Graham woke up at the Count's dining room table. There he was told he needed to find a sapphire tiara by sunrise in order to get the Dark Gem of Death, which the Count had confiscated, and to be allowed to live. Graham soon found another vampire, Anastasia in the library. She had once been Possum, the little girl he had helped twice. She gave him a book with a key in it, and then helped him figure out the instructions written in the book. Using these instructions, he uncovered the book "Treasure Island". After unlocking it, he found a clue to the tiara's location. Anastasia gave Graham a bracelet, asking him to place it on the graves of her parents. When he entered the count's cemetery and did so, the ghosts of her parents departed for the Realm of the Dead. Then, Graham followed the clue he had been giving and dug up the grave of Count Christopher Eveer, only to find that the tiara was not there! It was in the grave of Larmon Odnarb the Healer.
Traveling back to Grandma's house to see if there was any chance that there might be something there, he discovered a small bottle of wolfsbane under her pillow. Then, he went back to the church. In the church, he found piles of discarded monk habits and a journal. Graham read the journal, found it creepy, and left the book where it had been. Then, he went through the church to a graveyard behind. He found Larmon Odnarb's grave, dug up his coffin, and found the sapphire tiara inside. As he left the cemetery, he heard howling wolves. Taking it as a warning, Graham put the wolfsbane ointment on himself and headed back to the swamp. On his way there, he was ambushed by some wolves. However, sensing the wolfsbane, they fled.
When Graham reached the lake in the swamp, he found the ferryman missing and that he was surrounded by wolves, including a giant one in a monk's habit! Quickly, Graham dipped a silver needle he had found in the poisonous lake, put it in a reed he had collected and then shot the wolf in the robes. As soon as that had happened, the ferryman arrived saying that he had been dealing with a man who looked like King Graham. With that, Graham boarded the boat and was taken to the castle. There, he convinced the Count that the people of Kolyma might just be willing to accept him as their custodian and protector again, and then he set off for the Door of Destiny, finally carrying all three gems.
As he reached the bridge to get to the door, his leg fell through it and get stuck. He soon discovered he'd been caught in a trap set by the dwarf, who was angry at Graham's pillage of his home the night before. Graham used his quick wit to anger the dwarf, who threw his knife at the trapped king. Graham caught the knife and set to work freeing himself. Then, he cimbed up the bridge to the other side of the cliff and threw the knife into the bottomless chasm. Then, he reached the Door of Destiny and put each gem into it, in the order he had recieved them. The Door opened, and Graham stepped through to the Tower Realm, where the girl of his dreams awaited him.
Graham found himself standing on a bizarre shore, and noticed a golden fish swimming in the water. He used his fishing net and captured the fish. However, while it was struggling for breath on the shore, Graham was touched by it and threw it back into the water. To his surprise, the grateful fish offered him a ride to the island in the middle of the ocean. Climbing on the fish's back and holding onto the fins, he was carried to the island. After a bit of exploration, he found some words written in the sand. Reading them opened a portal to a small island not far away. More lines were written in the sand here, including instructions on how to leave. Graham followed the instructions then returned to the large island he had been on before. He put together the pieces of the puzzle needed to open the door to the tower on the island, and then found himself confronted with a riddle. After solving it, Graham ascended the stairs, disenchanted the lion guarding the door, and entered the room that the girl awaited him in. She was sleeping, so, hoping this was like a fairy tale, he kissed her. Though the kiss did not wake her, it was pretty clear she was enchanted. He adjusted a mirror in the room so that he could use his emerald to disenchant her. When he did so, she told him that she loved him. They kissed, and Hagatha appeared. After a brief confrontation, in which Hagatha told Graham that Gervain was the mysterious Father who had been orchestrating to have Graham killed in Kolyma, Graham put some lion fur in the youth potion he had taken, and gave it to the witch. Then, with Hagatha distracted by the fur on her face, Graham used the mirror to blind her and knock her out of the window. Then, he and Valanice left the room and headed back to Kolyma.
The two found themselves in Hagatha's cave. Graham picked up a small dome and discovered that the entire Tower Realm was contained within. He gave the dome to Valanice, who kept it as a reminder of how bad things could get. Then the two left the cave and were immediately met by Caldaur. Caldaur brought the two of them to his castle, where a ceremony was held to make him the Count of Kolyma again and to join Valanice and Graham in marriage. Then, he magically sent the couple back to Daventry. There, Graham confronted Gervain about his treacherous doings. Gervain transformed into the Father and cursed Graham and his family. Valanice comforted Graham, and then told him to take her around their kingdom.
After a while, Valanice bore twins, Alexander and Rosella. Graham loved both of his children, but before long Alexander was kidnapped from the shores of Lake Maylie in Daventry. Graham became depressed and distraught over this--he was an adventurer and yet he couldn't do anything to help his child? Then an even worse disaster befell him, as a three-headed dragon began to terrorize Daventry. Eventually, it demanded Rosella as a sacrifice, and the king was forced to offer up his daughter to the dragon. Shortly afterwards, while gazing out upon his kingdom, the Father appeared to him, asking for the Crown of Daventry. In return, the Father promised to lift the curse he had placed on Graham, which had caused all of the tragedies he had experienced. Graham thought about it, but then denied the Father his request. He could not, in good conscience, give the Crown of Daventry or the title of King of Daventry over to someone so evil. The Father told Graham that one day the two would meet again, and then vanished. Not even a full day later, Alexander and Rosella returned home with the evil dragon having been defeated.
Graham decided it was time to pass on his adventurer's cap, as his hair was graying and his children were clearly the adventurous type. He threw it into the air for his children to claim, whichever one caught it first. But before anyone could capture it, Graham felt a pain in his chest: his heart! He passed out moments later, and was taken to his bed chamber. He spent the next day in a coma until Rosella appeared with a magical fruit from the land of Tamir, which cured him.

Not long after, King Graham went for a walk in the woods. While he was gone, the wizard Mordack shrank Castle Daventry and everyone inside and transported it all into a jar in his laboratory. When Graham returned where his castle should have been, he discovered it was missing. Fortunately, he encountered Cedric, a magical owl who had seen the whole thing. Cedric helped bring Graham to the land of Serenia, to where Mordack lived. With a little help from the wizard Crispinophur, Graham was sent off on a quest to save his family from Mordack.

With the ability to speak to animals, due to some white snakeskin Crispin had made Graham eat, and his usual quick thinking and action, the king and Cedric befriended a hive of bees and colony of ants. He also interacted with many of the Serenians who lived in the town of Serenia, and stumbled upon a prince called Herbert who's fiancee had gone missing. Then, Graham entered the desert. Cedric refused to go with him. He found a boot, which he took, and a temple hidden in some cliffs. While at the temple, he saw some bandits arrive, magically open the door using a staff, and deposit treasure. When they departed, Graham followed them. He found their camp and took the staff and then returned to the temple. He made his way inside, although he broke the staff as he did, took a lamp and a gold coin, and then quickly left. Had he stayed any longer, he would have been trapped inside forever.

Once finally out of the desert, Graham visited a gypsy fortune teller who showed him Mordack and Castle Daventry...as well as Alexander who was being threatened. This angered Graham, and he left, more determined than ever to stop the wizard. The gypsy fortune teller gave him a magical amulet as he left. Then, Graham headed for a dark forest he had seen earlier. As soon as he entered the woods, he realized that the way out had magically disappeared. Not long after, a witch appeared and cast a spell at him. Fortunately, Graham was protected by the amulet. He gave the lamp to the witch, who curiously opened it and was suddenly transformed into a genie! The genie who had been in the lamp vanished, taking the lamp with him. Graham then found the witch's house and found some emeralds, a key, and a spinning wheel within it. He took the key to a tree that had a locked door in it, and found a golden heart inside that. Then, using some honey and the emeralds, he captured a little elf. The elf promised to show Graham the way out of the forest in return for his freedom, and then gave Graham some shoes in return for the emeralds. When Graham agreed, the elf took Graham through some underground tunnels that led outside the forest.
Once outside the forest, Graham found an old gnome and gave the spinning wheel to him in return for a wonderful marionette. Then, he gave the heart to a harp-playing willow tree who transformed into Herbert's fiancee, and took her harp. Then, he went back to the town of Serenia. He gave a golden needle the ants had helped him find to the tailor in return for a cloak, the marionette to the toy maker in return for a sled, and the shoe to the impoverished cobbler. The cobbler gave Graham a hammer and then retired. Then, Graham visited the inn and discovered it was the hideout for some thugs...who had Graham tied up in the basement. A rat freed Graham, and then Graham escaped from the inn, grabbing the rope and some food on his way out. Then, Graham headed for the mountains--taking a tamborine he found at the place gypsy encampment had been.

In the mountains, Graham donned his cloak, and climbed up a cliff. He carefully jumped over crevasses, and clambered over logs. Then, a wolf appeared and snatched Cedric up in its jaws! Graham used the sled and sped after the wolf. Unfortunately, he could not catch up with it, but followed it to the gate to an ice palace. Just outside the palace, he fed an eagle and befriended it. Then, he was escorted inside the palace by two wolves. Queen Icebella, who ruled from within, wanted to kill Graham until he played the harp for her. She then demanded that he defeat a yeti that had invaded her crystal caverns. He did so, using a pie he had bought in town. He took a crystal from the caves, and then returned to Queen Icebella who released both Graham and Cedric.
On the way out of the mountains, a roc grabbed Graham and took it to his nest. He found and took a locket there, and then was saved by the eagle had earlier helped. The eagle deposited him on a beach, where Cedric was waiting. They discovered the house of a deaf hermit, and a boat. After patching up the boat with beeswax and sailed off into the sea. They stumbled upon an island inhabited by harpies who abducted both Graham and Cedric. Graham distracted the harpies with his harp, which they stole. He grabbed a fish hook, Cedric, and a conch shell and hurried back to the boat. Then, he sailed back to the hermit, handed him the shell and asked for help healing Cedric. Telling the hermit of his quest, Graham soon found himself a guide in the form of the mermaid Pearl. She brought Graham and Cedric to Mordack's Island, where the boat crashed.
Graham used his crystal to protect against a gate that shot lasers at anyone who passed through. Then, he snuck inside the basement, leaving Cedric outside. He found himself in a maze, and soon discovered a strange animal in it. He gave the tamborine to the beast, and took a hairpin it dropped in its excitement. He later used the hairpin to pick a lock and get out of the maze. Then, he encountered a scullery girl who, after Graham gave her the locket he had found, introduced herself as Princess Cassima and promised to help Graham if she could. Then, he went into another room and was promptly captured by Mordack's butler and thrown in a prison. He retrieved a piece of cheese from a mouse hole, and then was rescued by Cassima. She led him back through the maze and back to the kitchen, where Graham took a bag of peas. As he left the kitchen, the butler returned, but Graham threw the peas at him and knocked him out. Next, Graham encountered Mananan in his cat form. Thinking quickly, he gave the cat a fish and then trapped him in the bag that had once had the peas. Then, he ascended some stairs and found Mordack's bedroom and library. While Graham glanced through some spell books, Mordack appeared in his bedroom and fell asleep. Graham took the chance to steal the wizard's wand. Then, he found Mordack's laboratory and an odd looking machine. He put Mordack's wand and Crispin's wand on the machine, and, not knowing what else to do, threw in the moldy piece of cheese. The machine transferred all the power from Mordack's wand to Crispin's. Then, Mordack appeared.
.
He shot a spell at Graham, but Cedric dove through the window and stopped it just in time. Then Mordack transformed himself into a flying stinger. Using spells he had learned in the library, Graham turned himself into a tiger. Mordack changed into a dragon, Graham into a rabbit. Then Mordack became a snake and Graham a mongoose.
Then Mordack morphed into a ring of fire around Graham, and the king made it rain. Mordack was extinguished.
Cassima came into the lab, unsure that Mordack had truly been defeated. Graham assured her that he had been. Then, Crispin appeared and helped to restore Cedric to life, and Graham's castle and family back to normal.
Graham's son set off for the Land of the Green Isles while all remained fairly calm in Daventry. When Alexander's crew returned to Daventry without him, he became quite worried. Later, however, Shamir transported Graham, Valanice and Rosella to the Land of the Green Isles. Filled with pride at his son's accomplishments, Graham blessed the marriage and told Alexander that he should become the king of that land, if he so chose.
When the Mask of Eternity was shattered, Graham was encased in stone like all the rest of Daventry, save Connor McLyrr.

More aged and feeble than he had been during his adventures, Graham was also heirless. After Connor had restored the Mask of Eternity, Graham realized that Connor would make a good First Knight. So, despite some objections among the nobles, Graham knighted Connor and made him First Knight and Heir to the Throne of Daventry.
