Quest for the Crown

After years of living on an island spinning straw into gold by himself, Nikstlitselpmur was almost surprised when Sir Graham defeated the troll who guarded the three bridges to his island and walked on over. Almost. Gnomes are never surprised. Knowing that Graham was seeking the Chest of Gold, and that the two ways of getting to the Land of the Clouds were both in his possession, Nikstlitselpmur decided to play a game with Graham. If Graham could guess his name in three tries, the gnome would give him magical beans. If not, he would give the knight a key to the stairs in the mountains for being a good sport.

If it were possible for gnomes to be surprised, Nikstlitselpmur certainly was when, on his last guess, Graham said his name. He handed Graham the beans, then went inside his home to think up a new game.
