Name: King Graham of Daventry
Aliases: Sir Graham of Daventry
Age: Somewhere in his late 40s to early 50s (possibly with some prematurely gray hair)
Race & Gender: Human Male
Status (as of conclusion of MOE): Current king of Daventry, alive
Residence: Castle Daventry, Kingdom of Daventry
Personality: King Graham is a loyal, kind trustworthy, brave, and adventurous individual with a strong sense of a right and wrong. You might call him a Boy Scout...at first glance. Graham's biggest character flaw is that he expects an equal amount of courtesy from everyone as he gives to everyone, which means getting something in return for everything he does.
History:
History seems to have forgotten much of what occured to Graham in his childhood and his quest for the Three Lost Treasures of Daventry. Somehow, he rose through the ranks of Knighthood and became King Edward's First Knight. Thus, he was chosen to go out and find the Three Lost Treasures of Daventry; Merlin's Mirror, the Chest of Gold, and the Shield of Achille. Due to the hopelessness of the quest, Graham searched everywhere for clues and hints about the whereabouts of the three treasures.
He climbed trees, swam in lakes, checked under rocks, and basically traveled the land of Daventry searching for the three treasures.
Eventually he stumbled upon an elf who gave him a ring to make Graham invisible, simply in thanks for Graham's kindness. This was but the first person he would encounter through his journeys, but not certainly not the last. He also encountered his fairy godmother, who cast a protection spell upon him.
He also discovered the house of the evil witch, Dahlia, slipped inside while she was gone and hid. The witch had stolen the Chest of Gold, he knew, and she was still a threat to Daventry. When the witch returned to her home and began to mix some kind of noxious brew, Graham shoved her in. With no one living in the house, he raided her pantry and took a note from her bedside table.
Graham encountered the starving family of a woodcutter and his wife living not far from Castle Daventry. Offering them a magic bowl he had found, they gratefully gave him their fiddle.
The next feat Graham succeeded in was actually recovering one of the treasures. After diving beneath an ancient old well, Graham discovered the secret lair of a dragon. The Dragon had been set to guard Merlin's Mirror. Armed with a bucket of water, and hoping that the dragon wasn't going to beat him to a pulp instead of burning him to a crisp, Graham threw the water at the dragon. When the smoke cleared, the mirror was free for the taking and Graham quickly claimed it. When he looked into the mirror, he saw himself wearing a crown. Feeling hopeful, Graham went on his way.
He plucked up a mushroom from the bank of river, and descended into a hole that had a green glow in it. After feeding a rather large and hungry rat, and playing music to distract some leprechaun guards, he found himself in a Leprechaun Throne Room. The Leprechauns celebrated their way out of the room, to where Graham couldn't say, and left a scepter and the Shield of Achille for him to take. Then, he left the room and ate the mushroom. That shrunk him down to a small enough size that he could leave through a miniscule hole in a rock, and make it back to Castle Daventry.
As he entered Castle Daventry, it became pretty clear, pretty fast that something was wrong. He hurried into the throne room to find that the entire court was there, clearly anticipating King Edward's death (are they sick people or what? Anyways...) Graham bowed respectfully to his leige, and displayed the three treasures for him. Having seen the quest fulfilled, Edward died and the crown was passed to Graham.
King Graham led Daventry through a year of prosperity and growth. He forged alliances with other kingdoms and helped the kingdom of Daventry rise to a place of power once again. Unfortunately, he was alone through all of this. He could feel the pangs of loneliness and they made him slightly absent-minded. Fortunately, he had the help of a new minister of war and defense, Gervain. After a year of being on the throne, King Edward appeared in the magic mirror and warned Graham that he needed a bride.
How hard could finding a bride be after finding three missing treasures? Graham held a ball and invited every maiden in the land. The ball was completely, completely uneventful, and didn't help Graham lose his "single" status. Soon after, however, Graham was shown what he needed to do. The magic mirror showed Graham the land of Kolyma, and the beautiful Valanice, locked high in a tower. So Graham set off on his quest.
While wandering around Kolyma, Graham encountered a young girl whose basket of goodies had been stolen. He found them for her in a mailbox, and was given flowers for his help. He also discovered several sapphire and diamond jewels and a trident. Then, he found a magical door floating on the other side of a rickety old bridge. After reading the inscription on the mysterious door, Graham journeyed off to find the key to it. At the beach of Kolyma, he encountered a mermaid. He gave her flowers, and in thanks she summoned a seahorse for him to ride. As he mounted it, he was taken to the court of King Neptune. After giving the trident he had found to King Neptune, he was given a golden key. Hastily, Graham returned to the magical door and unlocked it.
Behind it was another door. He read the inscription on that, and then decided to visit an antique shop he had seen. It had opened since he had been near it earlier. The woman inside told Graham she would give him a magic lamp, if he could go and recover a nightingale Hagatha had stolen from her. Graham set out to complete the task at once. Having found Hagathas cave, he crept inside, covered the nightingales cage with a cloth, and then escaped with the bird. Once outside, he hurried to the antique shop and gave the owner the nightingale. Gratefully, she gave him the lamp. When Graham rubbed it, a genie emerged. He gave Graham a magic carpet, a sword, and a bridle. Graham jumped onto his magic carpet, and was flown to the top of a mountain. There, he encountered a snake. Confused by its presence there, Graham decided to see what would happen if he threw the bridle on the snake. To his surprise, it turned the snake into a winged horse! In thanks for lifting the spell, the horse gave Graham a magical sugar cube. Inside a cave behind the snake, Graham found another key. Happy to have succeeded in getting the third key, Graham took his magic carpet and returned to Kolyma. On his way back to the door, he stopped in a church and prayed. This attracted the attention of a monk, who gave Graham a crucifix. Outside the church, a fairy stopped Graham and cast a protection spell upon him. Then, Graham went to the door and unlocked it.
A third door appeared. Graham read the inscription on this one, and crossed over the old bridge again. He then traveled through Kolyma again, searching for the third key. He found a house in a tree, and decided to investigate. He entered and found some chicken soup, which he took, and some sapphire earrings in a chest that he also took. Then, he went to the house where he had found the basket of goodies earlier. Inside, he found an elderly woman who was sick. He gave her the chicken soup, which helped her recover strength. In return, she gave him a cloak and a ring from under her bed. Graham put them on immediately, and put on the crucifix. Then, he walked to a poisonous lake he had seen. There, a ghoul waited to ferry someone across to a castle. Graham got into the boat and soon found himself standing on a path with poisonous thorns all along the edges. To protect himself, he ate the magical sugar cube and then proceeded up the path. Two ghosts guarded the door to the castle, but they ignored Graham when they saw his cloak and ring. Then, he entered the castle.
Inside one room, Graham discovered a candle, which he took. Using a torch, he lit the candle. In the dining room, he took a ham off of the table and carried it with him. Then, he descended some stairs to the basement of the castle. Inside a coffin there, he discovered a vampire sleeping. Taking a mallet and a stake he had found in the woods, Graham drove the stake through the evil creatures heart and killed it. He took a silver key from the coffin, then lifted up a cushion and found the third golden key. Graham decided to search the rest of the castle in case there was something there, and found a sapphire tiara inside a chest that he opened with the silver key. Then, quickly as he could, Graham left the castle. Once across the lake, Graham removed the cloak and ring and then headed directly for the magical door.
He unlocked the third door and stepped through, it had been the last door. He found himself on a strange beach, next to a fishing next. Picking up the fishing net, Graham tossed it into the ocean and waited. Soon, he pulled in a giant golden fish. But, as it struggled to breath, Graham felt pity for it and threw it back into the water. In thanks, the fish offered to give Graham a ride to an island in the middle of the ocean. He felt kind of foolish, but Graham grabbed a hold of the fishs fins and was taken off to an island. On the island, he found an amulet with the words home inscribed on it and a tower. He took the amulet, and climbed the stairs of the tower. A lion was guarding a door at the top of the towerthe tower which Valanice was undoubtedly locked in. Because the lion looked hungry, Graham gave it the ham he had picked up in the castle and then snuck past it, opening the door. Inside was Valanice! Graham asked her to marry him, and she agreed. Then, Graham looked at the amulet he had recently found, said home and found both himself and Valanice in the church! There, the monk agreed to marry the two of them and a fabulous wedding ceremony was held.
After a while, Valanice bore twins, Alexander and Rosella. Graham loved both of his children, but before long Alexander was kidnapped from the shores of Lake Maylie in Daventry. Graham became depressed and distraught over this--he was an adventurer and yet he couldn't do anything to help his child? Then an even worse disaster befell him, as a three-headed dragon began to terrorize Daventry. Eventually, it demanded Rosella as a sacrifice, and the king was forced to offer up his daughter to the dragon. Fortunately, Alexander and Rosella soon returned home with the evil dragon having been defeated.
Graham decided it was time to pass on his adventurer's cap, as his hair was graying and his children were clearly the adventurous type. He threw it into the air for his children to claim, whichever one caught it first. But before anyone could capture it, Graham felt a pain in his chest: his heart! He passed out moments later, and was taken to his bed chamber. He spent the next day in a coma until Rosella appeared with a magical fruit from the land of Tamir, which cured him.

Not long after, King Graham went for a walk in the woods. While he was gone, the wizard Mordack shrank Castle Daventry and everyone inside and transported it all into a jar in his laboratory. When Graham returned where his castle should have been, he discovered it was missing. Fortunately, he encountered Cedric, a magical owl who had seen the whole thing. Cedric helped bring Graham to the land of Serenia, to where Mordack lived. With a little help from the wizard Crispinophur, Graham was sent off on a quest to save his family from Mordack.
With the ability to speak to animals, due to some white snakeskin Crispin had made Graham eat, and his usual quick thinking and action, the king and Cedric befriended a hive of bees and colony of ants. He also interacted with many of the Serenians who lived in the town of Serenia, and stumbled upon a prince called Herbert who's fiancee had gone missing. Then, Graham entered the desert. Cedric refused to go with him. He found a boot, which he took, and a temple hidden in some cliffs. While at the temple, he saw some bandits arrive, magically open the door using a staff, and deposit treasure. When they departed, Graham followed them. He found their camp and took the staff and then returned to the temple. He made his way inside, although he broke the staff as he did, took a lamp and a gold coin, and then quickly left. Had he stayed any longer, he would have been trapped inside forever.

Once finally out of the desert, Graham visited a gypsy fortune teller who showed him Mordack and Castle Daventry...as well as Alexander who was being threatened. This angered Graham, and he left, more determined than ever to stop the wizard. The gypsy fortune teller gave him a magical amulet as he left. Then, Graham headed for a dark forest he had seen earlier. As soon as he entered the woods, he realized that the way out had magically disappeared. Not long after, a witch appeared and cast a spell at him. Fortunately, Graham was protected by the amulet. He gave the lamp to the witch, who curiously opened it and was suddenly transformed into a genie! The genie who had been in the lamp vanished, taking the lamp with him. Graham then found the witch's house and found some emeralds, a key, and a spinning wheel within it. He took the key to a tree that had a locked door in it, and found a golden heart inside that. Then, using some honey and the emeralds, he captured a little elf. The elf promised to show Graham the way out of the forest in return for his freedom, and then gave Graham some shoes in return for the emeralds. When Graham agreed, the elf took Graham through some underground tunnels that led outside the forest.
Once outside the forest, Graham found an old gnome and gave the spinning wheel to him in return for a wonderful marionette. Then, he gave the heart to a harp-playing willow tree who transformed into Herbert's fiancee, and took her harp. Then, he went back to the town of Serenia. He gave a golden needle the ants had helped him find to the tailor in return for a cloak, the marionette to the toy maker in return for a sled, and the shoe to the impoverished cobbler. The cobbler gave Graham a hammer and then retired. Then, Graham visited the inn and discovered it was the hideout for some thugs...who had Graham tied up in the basement. A rat freed Graham, and then Graham escaped from the inn, grabbing the rope and some food on his way out. Then, Graham headed for the mountains--taking a tamborine he found at the place gypsy encampment had been.

In the mountains, Graham donned his cloak, and climbed up a cliff. He carefully jumped over crevasses, and clambered over logs. Then, a wolf appeared and snatched Cedric up in its jaws! Graham used the sled and sped after the wolf. Unfortunately, he could not catch up with it, but followed it to the gate to an ice palace. Just outside the palace, he fed an eagle and befriended it. Then, he was escorted inside the palace by two wolves. Queen Icebella, who ruled from within, wanted to kill Graham until he played the harp for her. She then demanded that he defeat a yeti that had invaded her crystal caverns. He did so, using a pie he had bought in town. He took a crystal from the caves, and then returned to Queen Icebella who released both Graham and Cedric.
On the way out of the mountains, a roc grabbed Graham and took it to his nest. He found and took a locket there, and then was saved by the eagle had earlier helped. The eagle deposited him on a beach, where Cedric was waiting. They discovered the house of a deaf hermit, and a boat. After patching up the boat with beeswax and sailed off into the sea. They stumbled upon an island inhabited by harpies who abducted both Graham and Cedric. Graham distracted the harpies with his harp, which they stole. He grabbed a fish hook, Cedric, and a conch shell and hurried back to the boat. Then, he sailed back to the hermit, handed him the shell and asked for help healing Cedric. Telling the hermit of his quest, Graham soon found himself a guide in the form of the mermaid Pearl. She brought Graham and Cedric to Mordack's Island, where the boat crashed.
Graham used his crystal to protect against a gate that shot lasers at anyone who passed through. Then, he snuck inside the basement, leaving Cedric outside. He found himself in a maze, and soon discovered a strange animal in it. He gave the tamborine to the beast, and took a hairpin it dropped in its excitement. He later used the hairpin to pick a lock and get out of the maze. Then, he encountered a scullery girl who, after Graham gave her the locket he had found, introduced herself as Princess Cassima and promised to help Graham if she could. Then, he went into another room and was promptly captured by Mordack's butler and thrown in a prison. He retrieved a piece of cheese from a mouse hole, and then was rescued by Cassima. She led him back through the maze and back to the kitchen, where Graham took a bag of peas. As he left the kitchen, the butler returned, but Graham threw the peas at him and knocked him out. Next, Graham encountered Mananan in his cat form. Thinking quickly, he gave the cat a fish and then trapped him in the bag that had once had the peas. Then, he ascended some stairs and found Mordack's bedroom and library. While Graham glanced through some spell books, Mordack appeared in his bedroom and fell asleep. Graham took the chance to steal the wizard's wand. Then, he found Mordack's laboratory and an odd looking machine. He put Mordack's wand and Crispin's wand on the machine, and, not knowing what else to do, threw in the moldy piece of cheese. The machine transferred all the power from Mordack's wand to Crispin's. Then, Mordack appeared.
.
He shot a spell at Graham, but Cedric dove through the window and stopped it just in time. Then Mordack transformed himself into a flying stinger. Using spells he had learned in the library, Graham turned himself into a tiger. Mordack changed into a dragon, Graham into a rabbit. Then Mordack became a snake and Graham a mongoose.
Then Mordack morphed into a ring of fire around Graham, and the king made it rain. Mordack was extinguished.
Cassima came into the lab, unsure that Mordack had truly been defeated. Graham assured her that he had been. Then, Crispin appeared and helped to restore Cedric to life, and Graham's castle and family back to normal.
Graham's son set off for the Land of the Green Isles while all remained fairly calm in Daventry. When Alexander's crew returned to Daventry without him, he became quite worried. Later, however, Shamir transported Graham, Valanice and Rosella to the Land of the Green Isles. Filled with pride at his son's accomplishments, Graham blessed the marriage and told Alexander that he should become the king of that land, if he so chose.
When the Mask of Eternity was shattered, Graham was encased in stone like all the rest of Daventry, save Connor McLyrr.
