Prologue
After King Edward's wife died, the king was vulnerable. Looking for
a way to possess the Chest of Gold, Dahlia disguised herself as the beautiful
Princess Dahlia of Cumberland and wandered into a wolf's territory.
Predictably, the wolf chased the "princess" up a tree. When King
Edward arrived, and chased the wolf away, Dahlia told him how the wolf had
scared off all of her escort. The king began to fall in love with her,
although it was possibly due to an enchantment.
Eventually, he asked her to marry her. She accepted, knowing full well she had no intention of marrying that man. The night before the wedding, she stole the keys to Castle Daventry's treasury and grabbed the Chest of Gold. The watchman who saw her claimed she transformed into a hideous witch and flew out the window on a broom.
Quest for the Crown
Dahlia continued to wreak havoc upon Daventry after she had stolen the Chest of Gold and sent Daventry into poverty. Around her home, the woods became twisted and evil. It was dangerous to go there, as an ogre took up residence near her home as well. She, too, swooped around the woods and picked up innocent victims to be her next meal.
One day while looking for her next victim, Graham found his way into her
gingerbread house. He found a note on her bedside table and hid, waiting
for Dahlia to return. When the witch approached her house, she could
smell that Graham had been there but did not realize that he was still there.
She walked into her house and began to cook at her boiling pot.
Thinking quickly, Graham snuck up behind the witch and pushed her into
her own vile concoction. Immediately, Dahlia melted and was killed.
