History:
Quest for the Crown
At one time, the Woodcutter was successfully cutting down trees and selling the wood he chopped to other people who lived in Daventry. However, an evil influence emanating from Dahlia's house twisted parts of the woods of Daventry. Eventually, many of the forests where the Woodcutter had once worked were too dangerous to go. Thus, the poor Woodcutter and his wife lost their only source of income. Slowly, they began to starve. Eventually, the Woodcutter's Wife fell ill and he began to despair. The only place he could turn for joy was his fiddle, and that was not going to help feed his dying wife.
Then Sir Graham arrived at their doorstop. The Woodcutter welcomed
the knight into their home, but admitted that he could not provide any
hospitality. There was not enough food for either himself or his wife,
they certainly could not feed someone else. However, the good knight
had in his possession a magical bowl which could be filled with stew just
by saying the word "fill". Graham gave the bowl, full of warm stew,
to the Woodcutter. Grateful, he immediately began to feed his wife,
who began to revive. In thanks, the Woodcutter gave their benefactor
his beloved fiddle.
The Woodcutter's Wife - the beloved wife of the Woodcutter. She
did not mind her husband's work until it became too dangerous for him to
do. Then, as the couple ran out of food, she fell ill. Eventually,
she could not even rise from her bed. As she neared death, Graham
encountered the couple. He gave her husband a magical bowl that was
full of stew, and the Woodcutter immediately began to spoon the stew into
her mouth. The stew helped her to revive and she began to regain her
health.
