CLUB LAUNCH   INFORMATION
Club Launch Information
All of the S.A.R.G. members cordially invite you and your family to join us at our next club launch. You don't need to be a member of S.A.R.G. or the NAR to launch with us. Just bring out your rocket(s) and supplies and join the fun! We'll even provide the launch equipment. The launch fees are $3 for the day plus 25 cents per launch. The launch fees go towards launch equipment maintenance and other expenses.(Club members are exempt from the $3 fee, but not the 25 cents per launch.) But let's see, membership only costs $15 per year ($20 for an entire family), so if you plan on launching 3 or 4 times a year, you may as well join and enjoy the other benefits as well. You'll be saving money in the long run!
The FAA weight/propellant limits are as follows:
Rocket Weight - 1500g/52.95oz
Propellant (max per flight) - 125g/4.41oz
We are allowed the use of up to "G" engines.
Safety is our number one priority, and the launch site is under the direct control of the SSO (Site Safety Officer) who runs a disciplined and orderly launch site. All rockets must be approved for flight by the RSO (Rocket Safety Officer), who inspects them for safety and flyability before they are launched. The actual launches are under the control of the LCO (Launch Control Officer). The positions of SSO, RSO, and LCO are held by SARG members who are experienced rocketeers. Other officials may be present (such as trackers, timekeepers, etc.) depending on the events of the day. See our Launch Procedures page for more information.
Our kids form the bulk of our recovery crew, and they always perform their duties with high energy and enthusiasm. And, of course, fire extinguishers and first aid supplies are always on hand.
What should you bring? Well, your rockets, engines and flight supplies (ignitors, recovery wadding, powder, etc.), of course, and anything else you might need for a day of launching. Items such as:
Lunch, snacks, and drinks (no alcoholic beverages, please)
Lawn chairs and a folding table (if you have them)
Umbrella or other sun protection, sun block, etc.
Glue, cement, super-glue, masking, scotch, and electrician's   tape
Whatever tools you might need
Spare parts, such as: parachutes, shroud lines, launch   lugs, screw eyes, fin stock, and anything else you think you might need   (Remember, it's better to have it and not need it, than vice versa!)
Remember, if you have any questions, e-mail the President.
