VSB survey on long term planning for French Immersion

In March of 2006, the Vancouver School Board struck up a Long Term Planning Committee, composed from the Modern Language Advisory Committee (MLAC), to enquire into and report back regarding the long term goals and plans for French Immersion, Core French and Intensive French. For the Terms of Reference, please consult the webpage:

MLAC meeting minutes

The MLAC is conducting a survey seeking public input on French language programs currently available in the district. Feedback from the community will help to develop a vision to guide French Language learning in Vancouver schools over the next five years. As part of this process, the VSB will be developing a set of principles to guide the expansion of French Immersion programs. The VSB will also be reviewing the role of Basic (Core) French and Intensive French in meeting prescribed provincial learning outcomes. The public is encouraged to complete the survey on the Vancouver School Board website. Here is how to reach that survey:

  1. Go to the Vancouver School Board website www.vsb.bc.ca
  2. Click on French-language Learning at the VSB – Long-term Planning
  3. Click on “survey”

The public may also send comments to the committee via e-mail at: [email protected]
