PWFFL 2004 Awards Show - Part 5

[03.12.05] Kalamazoo, MI - If you just missed it, Willa, owner of the Rocko Bengals, just assulted the stage before the break when Jennifer Garner, this year's host, was about to give out the Bill Belicheck Award. Willa has since been arrested and Garner stormed out of the banquet extremely upset.

President Puck has had a hard time trying to calm down the crowd here at TGI Friday's. One in particular was Jabin of the Slimy Slugs, who was really enjoying Ms. Garner's company during our television breaks.

Nancy: That's right, Jim. I will have an exclusive with Jabin Q. owner of the Slimy Slugs after the banquet to get his feelings on the situation. I'm sure we'll have plenty of other highlights and updates this Monday on Access Hollywood, check your local listings for time and station. Back to you!

President Puck has finally got the crowd quieted down to a small rumble and looks to be on the way to proceeding with tonight's events.

Vince Lombardi Award

The Lombardi Award is given to the Coach of the Year. This coach was able to consistently play the best players over the course of the season with the most options at their disposal. This was another award that had a league wide vote. Nominees are: Benton Harbor Hoodlems, Kalamazoo Vikings, and Rhode Island Ridicule

Winner: Rhode Island Ridicule

(Owner, Libzie) Thank you, I apologize to everyone, especially Jennifer, for the conduct of our daughter. What she did was totally uncalled for. Anyway, I thank everyone that voted for me and I am really happy that I was able to be recognized as Coach of the Year again.

Jerry Jones Award

This award is earned by stringing together the best team through the draft, trades, free agency, and the waiver wire. The Jerry Jones award recognizes the General Manager of the year. Nominees are: Kalamazoo Vikings, Green Bay Slackers, and the Detroit Drive

Winner: Green Bay Slackers

The Slackers were able to put together not only the best draft, but also a great collection of talent to land them first on the season long General Manager's points. Combine that with an almost unanimous vote of confidence from the league, Dave S. proved that he belongs with the rest of the league after years of bad teams.

(Owner of the Slackers, Dave S finally wakes up from a nap) Oh, another one? Yeah! It's about time, thank you everyone.

George Halas Award

The George Halas Award is one of the highest honors, second only to the Bribin Cup, which an owner can receive in PWFFL. The Halas Award recognizes great contributions to not only the PWFFL, but also all of the Puck's World Fantasy Sports, Inc family of leagues. This person is viewed upon many as the Most Valuable Owner of the league, other than the President of PWFFL. This Award was determined almost exclusively on a league-wide secret ballot.

Most owners who voted for this person, did not give out a direct quote as to why they voted for this person. The commissioner's office believes that most think that they put together one of the better teams and is always one of the most competitive people in the league in year in and year out, regardless if its a sport that this person follows closely.

Winner: Libzie - Rhode Island Ridicule

Libzie: Wow! Me? I thought for sure Bob was going to win it again. My hats off to Bob though, who I think really deserves this award for all the articles he writes for us all the time. I am thankful that you all think that I am such a great asset to this league, I know I sure have to deal with a whole lot of.. (glares at Puck) stuff. Thank you again, this is such a great honor.

Thank you everyone for joining us tonight on ESPN Depoofle. We look forward to bringing you more in-depth interviews and reports during the off-season and into the 2004 PWFFL season. Updates on the status of Rocko Bengals owner, Willa, will also be presented throughout the off-season.
