PWFFL 2004 Awards Show [03.12.05] Kalamazoo, MI - Welcome to the fourth annual Puck's World Fantasy Football League (PWFFL) Awards Show presented world-wide on ESPN DePoofle. This year's event is broadcasted once again from the luxurious TGI Fridays in Kalamazoo, Michigan. An excited Jennifer Garner hosts this year's award show, making it her first fantasy football awards hosting gig.
"I couldn't pass it up," Garner spoke with a huge grin on her face, "I love fantasy football and I had told my agent to book the first league that offered me a chance to host their banquet. And Kalamazoo is such a great place, I haven't been able to get back here since I performed at the Barn Theater near here. Puck has been so nice, and to tell you a secret.. I'm using this as an opportunity to get in close with the (PWFFL) Tenured Owners so I can get into this great league."
The PWFFL owners started to file into the restaurant. Puck walked in sporting his three championship rings on his fingers and accompanied by his lovely wife, Rhode Island owner Libzie. Rocko Bengals owner, Willa, fresh off her amazing outfit from the previous year, seemed upset at the fact that Garner outshined her and took away the limelight. "What is she doing here? She's not in our league, what is it? Is it because she so pretty? Ugh, I can't believe this." The first family was followed closely with Seattle Slimy Slugs owner Jabin Q. who went to this year's banquet stag, but was still styling to try to impress the cute waitresses. The Slugs had a disappointing exit from the playoffs this year, but Jabin was not going to let things get out of hand this year, especially during the after party. "Lets just say, I'm not going to get plastered afterwards. We are in pretty decent shape heading into 2005, so I don't have anything to be depressed about." Green Bay Slackers' Dave S. showed up next along with the PWFFL service staff. The Slackers had a great turnaround this year, and it shows with the upbeat confidence Dave is presenting despite being down with the crud this weekend. "Its amazing what this guy went through this season," Nancy explains to the camera, "the surgeries, infections, its amazing this guy was able to set a lineup every week, let alone oversee one of the best turnarounds in league history." Shortly after Dave and crew entered the restaurant, the crowd started to stir and look up. A man was parachuting down onto the red carpet making a dramatic entrance to the Awards Banquet. It was 2003 George Halas Winner, Bob Pinter, also owner of the Detroit Drive. Bob stood up and brushed off the dust from the Drive's Mike Vick jersey he was wearing, "When I saw the beautiful Jennifer Garner was hosting this year's event, I just had to jump out as we were flying to Detroit to the groundbreaking of our new stadium in downtown Detroit, I guess my guys will have to turn around and land to pick me up after this is all done." Inside at dinner, the food was excellent. PWFFL treated everyone to appetizers while many discussed league business. The Tenured owners got together and voted to include the NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness Tournament into the PWFSI sanctioned leagues by a 4-1 vote. Steaks and Ribs went around the table later into the afternoon. Ms. Garner was starting to warm up to Slugs' Jabin as the two of them were starting to hit it off in the corner.
We have to take a commercial break, but when we return Ms. Garner will start giving out awards.
