| Youth Educational Service (Y.E.S.) Youth Educational Service (Y.E.S.) is an innovative 8-week program developed to provide an educational outlet for disadvantaged youth during the summer months of June to August. These services will be offered to youth ages 13 to 18. The Y.E.S. program is a collaborative partnership between PWEC, Lutheran Social Services, and Path of Life Family Shelters. The program provides training and workshops in career exploration, computer skills, life skills, and financial planning. Tutoring is offered for students that have fallen behind in their education due to displacement. A computer lab is offered to students with dyslexia or other learning disabilities to increase the retention of basic education skills in reading and math. Workshops are scheduled monthly. Workshops are available to both adults and youth. The goal of this program is to help bridge the gap in the development of positive behavior and creating realistic goals for the future. |
