CIA agent spreads terror fears in Australia
By Propaganda Monster 21 November 05

rohan gunaratna:
right person?
right time?
right place?
funny that!

An international CIA spy from Indonesia says there are many terrorist networks operating in Australia - meanwhile the bombs are going off in his own backyard. But don't you worry he gets paid well to promote fear because he's part of the program on the 'war on terror' (which is usually state sanctioned terror to promote fear most of the time)!

CIA spy dr rohan gunaratna has addressed a policing, propaganda and Counter Liberty forum in Sydney today. But you've never heard from him before? Have you?

Seems CIA spy sidney jones is having a break or simply not convincing enough to most Australians (because of her accent) so the other loser who keeps getting picked up in the mainstream in Indonesia has come over to justify hoWARd's new terror laws.

After State Sanctioned Terror bomb blasts recently in Indonesia he has come over to Australia to ensure prime meanster john hoWARd (the coward) passes his draconian anti-liberty legislation here by attempting to validate the fact that there are many terrorist networks operating in Australia.

Are you terrified truth-seeker? Terrified enough to let john hoWARd the coward pass any law that he wishes based of your fear from his terror network?

Why shouldn't you be convinced after all gunaratna says he's a dr and reported to be a 'terrorist expert'? He even lives in Indonesia surrounded by bombs going off in his own backyard. But even with his alleged expertise it has only led to even more relentless and 'subsequent bombings' in Indonesia. So I suppose that's how you know you need an expert?

dr gunaratna has told delegates that while Australian authorities have disrupted an alleged terrorist cell, many others exist.

Notice he has now validated that the authorities have disrupted and alleged terrorist cell here? Even though it was only a witch-hunt and a 'district fishing expedition' and where nothing has been proved! This sounds like a dr with a history of checking his facts? That's what you call research?

gunaratna: "There are other extremist and terrorist cells on Australian soil," he said.

But from what most Australians can make out the only terrorist we have around here is the neo-liberal government, which includes paid off media giants and terrorism experts from the CIA. The CIA spy's with all the credentials and who just happen to reside where all the bombs go off.

Funny that, I guess you just have to be the 'right person' in the 'right place' at the 'right time', hey you gutter snipe on a good whack!

He has predicted that Australia is likely to face a terrorist attack on home soil within the next few years. Just like he predicted they'd go off in Indonesia I suppose? Then again that wouldn't be hard to predict at all would it truth-seeker? I mean you wouldn't have to be an expert!

He says the most dangerous threat is posed by homegrown terrorist networks, although Australia also faces a threat from groups based in South East Asia.

Yeah, him the Indonesian authorities and his CIA mates!

Because the most dangerous threat here in Australia is posed by home-grown terrorists all right and we should know better than any foreigner.

The problem

Prime meanster john hoWARd with his new Anti-Terrorism and IR Bills. Not to mention the degrading state of the Sin-ate. The neo-liberal coward hoWARd, his cronies, media giants and numerous expert mates from the CIA.

Expert mates (from all walks of life) in fact when it comes to government propaganda. When they drop in look out for a PR conference, about the constant fear and terror that should be promoted to sustain the illegal and degrading war on Iraq and Afghanistan. Or experts in our Universities promoting essays on the benefits of torture.

He told delegates there are between 200 and 300 Muslims in Australia who support violent extremism.

Okay then how many in Indonesia smarty-pants?

gunaratna: "The most dangerous threat to Australia today comes from home-grown networks - what we call the resident threat," he said.

That's you and me! Resident threats now are we, to what? Corporations!

Because the most dangerous threat we face in Australia today comes from home-grown networks - what we call the neo-liberal threat including the media giants who are paid off to promote fear and propaganda in the community for their illegal and degrading war on terror.

gunartna: "The threat that primarily stems from the radicalised segments of the Muslim community in Australia - this is the primary threat."

But that's wrong again, because the threat here primarily stems from the radicalised USA government in Australia, the FBI and the CIA as well as the American Military Industrial Complex - this is the primary threat.

gunaratna: says networks based in South-East Asia will also form a long-term threat to Australia the longer they are allowed to flourish.

But as long as the corrupt Indonesian government rule then you can kiss your arse goodbye for any long-term relief in Indonesia regardless of any expert who has obviously done nothing to fix the problem in his own backyard.

gunaratna: "You face a very significant terrorist threat through Australia, on Australian soil, so the threat to Australia remains significant," dr gunaratna said.

But we face a very corrupt government hear in Australia - as you do in Indonesia - as well as a significant civil liberties threat with lots of injustice at the moment and that is exactly what will lead us to any possible terrorist threat - my learned dr and alleged terrorist expert?

He told delegates Australia's political leaders must build bridges with Muslim communities, and have described their efforts so far as gravely inadequate.

Especially when they're breaking down doors and locking them up to be used as scapegoats for their illegal and degrading war on terror (which is terror).

Thank you for your expert opinion mr guttersnipe and give my love to sydney jones and georgie dubya bushit. Then piss-off back to Indonesia and fix the problem in your own backyard before you give Australians any advice.

Man fights terrorist training charge
By Injustice 21 November 05

A Sydney man charged with training with a terrorist organisation is asking the Supreme Court to put a permanent stay on the charge.

Izhar Ul-Haque, the man that wanted to become a doctor, 22, has pleaded not guilty to one charge of training with a terrorist group.

Prosecutors allege that in early 2003, he went to Pakistan and spent several weeks training with the now banned organisation known as LET, in preparation to fight against Indian forces in Kashmir.

Lawyers for Ul-Haque are applying to the Supreme Court to have a permanent stay put on the charge on the grounds that the Federal Government's laws cannot cover alleged criminal acts which do not have an Australian connection.

But prosecutors and lawyers for the Government have told the court the laws do apply, and the charge should stand.

Justice Virginia Bell has reserved her decision.

No hope, no dignity on welfare overhaul
By Stephanie Peatling 21 November 05

Government changes will create a new underclass of working poor reliant on charities, family and friends to supplement low wages, church-based employment organisations will tell a parliamentary inquiry today.

Instead of creating incentives for people to find work, the biggest changes in the system in decades will force people on welfare to accept jobs with no award conditions or pay rates or face the suspension of their benefits for eight weeks.

"This is an agenda that passes the buck on poverty and inequality," the St Vincent de Paul Society will tell the inquiry.

"It contributes to greater income inequality at a time when there is not a scintilla of evidence to suggest that the slide into growing inequality has been arrested. Furthermore, it does nothing to really enable people to participate in work, education or the community. It does not offer dignity. It takes away hope."

Church-based members of the Job Network, including Catholic Welfare Australia, the Salvation Army, UnitingCare and Anglicare Australia, account for about 20 per cent of the employment agencies the Federal Government uses. They represent a higher number of people with disabilities than other employment agencies and are already finding it difficult to find enough suitable jobs.

The organisations have all attacked the proposed welfare changes, saying they are based on a system of fear and will result in people having to rely on charity.

A government committee will hear three days of evidence on the new welfare system before reporting back within a week before Parliament returns for its final fortnight of the year. The new welfare system is scheduled to begin on July 1.

The provisions include:

* New applicants for the disability pension will be tested to see if they are capable of working 15 hours a week.

* If they are, they will have to look for a job or be automatically placed on the lower Newstart (unemployment) payment.

* Sole parents applying for the Parenting Payment (Single) will have to look for work once their youngest child turns six.

* However, they will not be moved to the Newstart payment until the child turns eight.

Church and welfare groups are particularly concerned about the tough new rules for people who do not meet the requirements of their welfare payments and will tell the inquiry they should be abandoned.

A person's payments will be automatically cut off for eight weeks if they do not accept a job, if they do not participate in work-for-the-dole programs or if they leave a job for a reason Centrelink deems unreasonable.

The chief executive officer of Catholic Welfare Australia, Frank Quinlan, said that the proposed new system "makes no sense".

"Suspending all payments to the very poor is like sending a naughty child to their room and leaving them there for three days," he said.

Instead of taking away benefits, more money should be spent on training so people have a better chance of finding a good job and turning the work-for-the-dole program into a vocational training system, the churches argue.

The Salvation Army is also expected to criticise the new system when it gives evidence later in the week. Its national secretary, John Staite, has already said he expects his organisation's resources to be stretched as more people come for help.

However, the Government argues that moving people from welfare into work will increase employment rates and improve the lives of welfare recipients and their families.
