HISTORIC MINISTERIAL BACKGROUND

MY LIFE'S GREATEST MISSIONARY JOURNEY, FIRST 59 PAGES OF MY BOOK UNPOLISHED, HUNDREDS MORE TO COME...

BIOGRAPHY OF DIRECTOR PETER ROMANOWSKY

I Peter Romanowsky have lived in Marin County/Sonoma for most of my life. I moved here as a teenager in 1964 from Forestville in Sonoma County where I lived briefly after moving from Southern California, and attended Analy High School before moving to Larkspur and attending Redwood High. After a brief time in Southern California again, (where I originated from in my youth), I married the youngest daughter of Marin County Supervisor Ernest Niles Kettenhofen, who was a larger then life historical, political as well as business figure in Northern California.

I was called into the ministry of Jesus Christ as a young man of eighteen years. I was licensed as a General Baptist Minister in 1969 by the Central California Association of the General Baptist Church of America. After my brief internship I was recruited by the New Covenant Evangelistic Association an inter-denominational ministerial alliance headquartered in Richmond California, and made vice president of the association. I had organized founded and pastored a church which meet in the facilities of the Woodacre Improvement Club. From that location we moved our little congregation to the beautiful Stewart Chapel on the seminary hill campus of the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo.

After pastoring, evangelizing and Bible teaching for many years, I began to feel the call for more direct social and political action.

I met and talked with religious leaders at an early age, who trained me in the basics of social resonsibility and action. I traveled extensively as an international missionary evangelist with a religious healing and teaching ministry, through out Western Europe and the Middle East. I have been on ten separate overseas missions with many countries being visited and ministered in. Including Israel, Finland, Germany, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, England and Cyprus.

I have been involved with the early religious television outreach of the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as meeting and talking to a number of the early pioneers of national religious telecasting and broadcasting. I also had a number of religious radio programs of my own, connected to our church. I had my experience with small businesses when our congregation opened a thrift store next to Safeway in San Rafael. What I am most proud of is the Homeless Shelter and Halfway House that our congregation orginized and supported from my own residence in San Anselmo. Where we took in all the poor and homeless off the streets and fed, provided showers telephones, television and a clean warm safe place to live and a beautiful redwood tree garden to walk in. I am so happy to have had a place so large, that we could take in so many people over so many years, without any help from the government. I am proud to say that we had no homeless people living on the streets of San Anselmo when I ran a homeless shelter and Disciple House with my wife Becky, which was connected to our little Church.

My ministerial background which has shaped my desire to represent the powerless, voiceless, disabled, youth, elderly and THE WORKING CLASS AMERICAN. Who is doing all that he or she can to support their family, and get ahead without the heavy burdens of government interference and taxes, that so swallow up the middle class.

While the financial incumbents in turn rule this land with their power, influence and money, often taken from the working poor, and continue to buy and sell and trade justice as though it were a common commodity, in our judicial system.

I know I sound more like a social progressive instead of an OLD GUARD REPUBLICAN and fiscal conservative. I SOUND LIKE IT because I believe it's TIME FOR A CHANGE, back to the GRASS ROOTS of our political party. Back when the REPUBLICANS were more concerned about social justice for THE UNDER REPRESENTED, blacks, women and religious minorites as well as oppressed people in general, and not just going after the almighty dollar. like THE TRAP ultra fiscal conservatives of both major parties have often fallen into.

In short I am a blue collar working class REPUBLICAN who believes in self determination for ethnic as well as religious minorites and any other under represented gender or class of people. Who feel discriminated against because of their unique cultural life style, religious or beliefs of conscience.

I believe in the right of self determination in the area or religious rights, that are not popular with the unbelieving majority or not, when it comes to a particular religious faith's dogma.

I believe in the right of families and couples to raise their own children, without being forced to give them up to total strangers. To have others raise their own precious biological off spring, in the name of public education or even social services. When parental rights are violated in the name of political correctness.

I believe that the education of our children should be in the best interests of the parents, in the context of what's best for children, nation and the world.

I believe that people should own the means of their production and work, and that the governments job is to see that no one takes more then their share.

I believe in the self determination of racial as well as religious and cultural minorites, if they so choose. As long as it is ultimately in the best interest of ONE NATION UNDER GOD WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

I believe that no man has the right to take another mans life, even if he asks for it. Unless he or she has committees a crime worthy of death. Understanding that a person may be in such unbearable pain, that the medication it'self may ultimately release that person from their pain, and into the hands of God.

I also believe in the Oath of Hypocrites which not only forbids giving of any deadly solution to any patient, "even if they ask". But also states that no doctor shall give any abortion inducing solution to any women, "who asks". That is, I do not believe in abortion as a contraceptive, for example in the name of eugenics.

Finally I believe in that part of the oath also which forbids doctors from gouging anyone, for their knowledge of their healing ways.

I believe of FREEDOM OF RELIGION and not freedom FROM religion.

I believe that the SUPREME COURT IS FALLIBLE and that we can non-violently reverse their historically proven wrong decisions, through activism and political protest and grass roots politics. I believe it is right to question and protest their decisions, and do all that is in our non-violent power to over throw their not only wrong, but historically proven wrong decisions.

I am writing to you in this 21 Century form of media, as my own editor and web site developer. In able to share my background and convictions, on why I am running for the California Assembly, and what factors brought me to make this commitment, and what is my long term strategy in influencing social change. As well as my strategy in bringing the majority of the people,(in the long run) into the political arena.

I AM A MAN WITH A SHEPERDS HEART

I received this heart of COMPASSION when I was a pastor, evangelist, international missionary, halfway house director and radio broadcaster in Northern California. My intent is not to foster any personal religious dogma, but simply to inform, and help understand the nature of my concern for people and my ability to communicate in the spirit of MARTIN LUTHER KING. and others, my love of being around and working with people in general. Like all shepherds, I'm ready to use both rod and staff to fight off the wolves, and comfort the flock, without being patronizing or over bearing. I have much more to share about my political convictions and what they are, and what I intend to do about the things that concern me as a fellow citizen.
