TRANSPORTATION

I am concerned about the Department of Motor Vehicles and it's power to tax citizens (figure of speech) and prevent them from driving, looking for work, or even sleeping in their cars when they are honestly homeless. If they can't afford insurance or expensive smog control and mechanical work. I am concerned about the power of the insurance companies over the DMV and their vast influence to be able to control it's rule making through the  California State Assembly. IN SHORT I WANT TO ABOLISH THE PRACTICE OF REQUIRING SMOG AND INSURANCE PAPERS AT DMVS. lET THE POLICE DO THE JOB ON THE STREETS AND NOT WHEN POOR STRUGGLING PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY TRYING TO REGISTER THEIR VEHICLES. ESPECIALLY WHEN MANY OF THE POOR HAVE TO LIVE IN OR SIMPLY PARK THEIR CARS OR VANS ON PUBLIC STREETS. DUE TOP NOT HAVING A DRIVEWAY TO TAKE PARK IN.

I also intend to push for light rail access right down the middle of freeways in need be, to help get people out of their cars in general and begin using public transportation.Plus walking lanes alone all freeways and maine roads, so people can walk right down  the main highways of middle America and protest the unleashed power of the oil companies and auto makers. Who by the way in my opinion are responsible for all the homelessness poverty and misery attended by PAC money and lobbyist on behalf of said special interests and their hired hands in government. When state planners succumb to these special interests and build and plan communities around the automobile, the poorest of the poor are left out in the cold. When they can't smog their cars for transportation or work, and rich people avoid their responsibility  by buying hugh smog polluting SUV'S that are exempt from the striker transportation vehicles codes. Please are going to prison simply for not being able to smog their vehicles and getting insurance, plus losing their licenses for even riding bicycles without proper equipment such as expensive lights and brakes.
