Not everyone might have the patience for creating their own missions for Command & Conquer: Red Alert as the lion's share of the work is in repeatedly play-testing the mission to see if it actually works as intended. Nevertheless, creating your own Red Alert missions is alot of fun. If you would like to try this then there are a few basic tools you'll need as well as some essential information.

In my travels on the internet, I have found all kinds of C&C: Red Alert mission creation utilities and in my humble opinion, alot of them were substandard. Likewise, a number of mission creation and mod-making guides —if it be proper to call them 'guides'— were poorly written or had very little to offer in the way of any real concrete information.

Being a minimalist, I don't see the point in posting zip files to every last Red Alert mission creation program or text file out there, substandard or not, just to fill up pages and make appearances of having a wide selection. I think that presenting a bevy of zip files without quality control tends to obfuscate the whole process of acquiring what is essential to create a Red Alert mission or mod (and wastes valuable time by compelling the visitor to download alot of what is essentially garbage.)
