COURSE REQUIREMENTS

ART 106 ; Basic Drawing I

No textbook is required, but approximately $150 worth of drawing materials will be needed during the course. The objective of the course is to improve drawing skill by improving observation (See Blind ARt Teacher) and an awareness of movement.  Ten hours per week, including class time, is an average of time needed to complete assignments. One individual field trip to a museum, galleries or somewhere else or a written report may be required.  Attendance will be taken and 5 absences may result in a lowered grade. A passing grade on an examination of linear perspective is required for a final grade of C or higher. With the above considerations, the final grade is based entirely on a semester's end conference with a portfolio representing all classwork, homework and extra work. Interim work and individual drawings will be graded generally only upon the student's request
