notebook, optional perspective pamphlet, black portfolio and box) under
my supervision and offers them AS A PACKAGE (no substitutions) for around
$50.
However, they are standard materials and are commonly
available from many other sources.

MINIMUM MATERIALS FOR BASIC DRAWING I - (ART 106)
(in order of timely need)
(immediate)
1 #1 pencil or fat art pencil or 2B drafting pencil)
1 pad white drawing paper 18" x 24" (50 sheets total)
1 roll l/2" masking or drafting tape
1 sharp knife, blade or Exacto knife.
1 small piece of sandpaper (medium to fine grit)
1 notebook
1 home-made or purchased black, hinge-type portfolio (not a brown envelope
)
1 box in which to keep all the small stuff. (not a bag!)
A place at home to draw.
(two weeks)
2 sticks (hard and soft) of black Conte' crayon
1 china marker
1 sumi (bamboo) brush
1 pen holder and an assortment of 3 nibs including one speedball b-5
or equivalent
1 1 oz. bottle of black drawing ink
(five weeks)
"Perspective", pamphlet published by Walter Foster (optional).
2 pads newsprint paper (100 sheets total) 18" x 24" (don't use until
instructed)
1 art gum eraser (don't use until instructed)
2 sheets gray charcoal paper 18" x 24"
5 sticks of vine charcoal
4 sticks of compressed charcoal (medium or soft)
1 kneaded rubber eraser (don't use until instructed)
Be sure and carry your MCC ID card or other proof of your student status
and ask for a student discount :-)
It is not necessary to buy all this stuff at once nor is it required
that you carry all of it to every class. The benevolent Professor
will let you know ahead of time when you will need to bring something new
to class.
Note that this list is a MINIMUM LIST. You undoubtably
will need to replenish some of these quantities, especially if you are
a better student.
