Who Was Moshe Feldenkrais?

The Founder of the Feldenkrais Method

"If you know what you do you, can do what you want." M.F.

Mosh Feldenkrais (1904-1984) was an engineer and doctor in physics who worked as a researcher alongside Frederic and Irene Joliot-Curie.

He was also an accomplished athlete, and created the first Judo dojo in Europe. He was the first European to earn a judo black belt.

A friend of the arts and culture, he was one of the first to link modern science with oriental martial arts philosophy. He drew his conception of the body as a "physical reality" from this mix of diverse disciplines. According to Feldenkrais, the body's "physical reality" expresses itself as through action as a dynamic equilibrium of movement, sensation, feelings and thought.

Feldenkrais dedicated himself to the proposition of movement as a means of learning
