The Feldenkrais Method incorporates an unusual melding of biomechanics, motor-development, psychology, and the martial arts into a system of physical movements. It improves posture flexibility, coordination, self-image, and alleviates muscular tension and pain.
The Feldenkrais Method has two essential tools. The first is Awareness Through Movement (ATM), which is done in groups and is led by the practitioner's voice. The second tool is functional integration (FI), which is done on a one to one basis and is a hands-on practice.
The Method harnesses the nervous system's ability to self-organize towards more effective and intelligent action. The method is holistic--it addresses the whole person.
