Praise DeLight Ensemble, is a  traditionally styled ensemble, brought together by Elder Andre' Ponder who serves as Youth Minister of Holy Tabernacle United Church of God, Florida.

The idea of forming this group came when Elder Andre' entered into the office of Bishop Johnny Williams to discuss a personal matter.  Following their conversation, Bishop Williams planted a seed offering and advised Elder Andre' to place it somewhere in his house and to watch it grow once its been invested.  Those were his only instruction.  Elder Andre' then needed to find an avenue to invest in.  He thought to himself, "Why not in yourself," he began to ponder on the things he loved to do within the ministry and came up with the idea of forming a group and doing a CD, but he had not much original material, other than the few songs he would introduce to the youth choir.

The Lord blessed Elder Andre' to write and compose in a short period of time, but he needed musicians and singers that could interpret what he was trying to do.  He would test the songs with his two sons DeAndre' and Brandon and they seemed to like them.  DeAndre' helped to write the song entitled, "You Can Run, but You Can't Hide," a quote he heard from a Power Ranger movie.  Once the ground work was done, Minister Stephen Amacker caught the vision and quickly began to set the songs to music.  A short rehearsal began in Elder Andre's home while beating on pots and tupper-ware, laughing as the night went on.

The groups name was to be originally called, Minister Andre' & the Holy Tabernacle Praise Team Ensemble.  Since the completion of this project, Elder Andre' had been elevated to an ordained Elder and the name changed to Praise DeLight Ensemble.  They are an anointed and spirit filled ensemble that loves the Praise the Lord, and as the bible says, if you DeLight yourself in him, he will give you the desires of you heart.  "Praise DeLight," its main purpose is to spread God's word through the ministry of song, "Keeping God in the Gospel."

Each original member of the ensemble were hand selected by Elder Andre', not solely on talent, but availability.  Its original members as pictured are: Tiffany Johnson, Tonya Cunnington, Krystel Cunningham, Sheneque' Williams, Alycia LaFavor, Demetrius Lee, Isaac Jeff II, Xavian Raymond, Patrice Fletcher, Avis Purcell and Myrtis Williams.  Later added as backup members are: Temeka Williams and Leslie King.

Their goal in not just to become another group out there singing gospel music, but are geared as an ensemble with a message of praise and sanctification through righteous living.  Anyone can sing about it, but Praise DeLight is out to live it as well.  "One Planteth, One Watereth, but God gives the increase."
