WESTSIDE GAZETTE - December 21 - 27, 2000 - By Marna Clark When the praises go up: Young spiritual minds at work Feet are tapping, hands clapping, and the spirit is feverishly moving right here in Broward County. It can be experienced coming from the hearts and minds of a long-time coming young gospel singing group through their new CD on the market. The Praise DeLight Ensemble headed by Elder Andre' Ponder will take the gospel music industry by storm with and upcoming CD entitled, "That was Then, This is Now." The CD consist of 12 songs written by Ponder, who has set out to spread God's word through the ministry of song. This wonderful array of music is available now. If the youth of today are willing to listen; it is important to give them the right stuff to listen to. Elder Ponder has done just that. He is keeping God in the gospel and spreading the "Good" word through the minds of children. That's a good place to shout right there! THE PALM BEACH POST - January 16, 2001 - By Meghan Meyer Communities Honor MLK with Celebrations, Dedications The crowd rose to its feet and roared when Andre' Ponder threw off his cape, sweat pouring from his brow, and belted out the final notes of his last song. "Joy! Joy! Joy!" he bellowed, as the audience clapped in tune. Ponder and his Praise DeLight Ensemble, of the Holy Tabernacle in Fort Lauderdale, performed Monday for about 5,000 at the South Florida Fair's Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday celebration.

They are a newly formed ensemble, which consists of 12 members. Brought together through the futuristic insight of Elder Andre' Ponder, who serves as the youth minister of Holy Tabernacle United Church of God. He wrote all the songs for their newly released CD entitled, "That was Then, This is Now." Elder Ponder says, "The purpose of his project is to spread God's word through the ministry of song." CHRISTIAN CHURCHES MONTHLY - April 2001 - Entertainment Feature And Now...... Elder Andre' & the Praise DeLight Ensemble. The newly formed 12 member traditional styled ensemble, the brainchild of Elder Andre' Ponder, youth minister of Holy Tabernacle United Church of God, Fort Lauderdale, announces the release of their first CD entitled, "That was Then, This is Now." They describe themselves as "an anointed and spirit filled ensemble that loves to Praise the Lord and as the bible says, if you DeLight in him, he will give you the desires of your heart." This explains the creative name Praise DeLight and says everything about the mission of the group, that of spreading God's word through the ministry of song. But not just song, this group aims to be more than just another singing group. They are geared towards not just singing about the life of sanctification through righteous living, but are determined to live it daily as well. Their first single, "That was Then, This is Now" is an upbeat contemporary styled song, directed towards getting people to recognize who they have become in Christ. The single is just one song on the CD with the same title. This CD is a mixture of different styles of music, offering something for everyone.

In addition to working full-time for BSO and serving as the youth minister of Holy Tabernacle United Church of God in Fort Lauderdale, Deputy Ponder recently found time to form his own gospel group: Elder Andre' & the Praise DeLight Ensemble.
