The last clapboard wall we installed. While Jim waited for Elizabeth to finish painting the north wall, he decided to work on this plain wall.


Sorting through the dwindling stack of old clapboards.


We did a calculation to make the best use of the few long clapboards in the stack. Three rows of short clapboards were installed between each full-length clapboard. Care was taken to keep the joints from stacking one above another.


Not only was the number of good clapboards limited, so where the number of scaffolding sections. As Elizabeth finished second coats of the latex paint, the upper scaffolding sections were moved to the side where Jim was working.

The last wall of clapboards we put up, primed and ready for some yellow paint.
