  Paper clip. -Mike Mir[7.20-4:46am]

Okay, so, im here, at 1:33am, parusing both the printed version of 2600 magazine (thnx sput) and the online version, and i figured that as a semi-informed member of the online community, i should at least give these guys a link off our website. After all they are doing alot for free speech and that sort of thing, as well as having some very informative computer related articles. Check out www.2600.com and also the Electronic Frontier Foundation (an awesome organization) at www.eff.org. These links will go up permanently in the "links" area.

Some website updates:
Sput found some really amusing pictures that ill get scanned and uploaded to the media page here pretty soon. Some are nearly 2 years old. We're moving back to Turkeynet thanks to that loveable Turk. That means that not only will we get downloads back online, but we'll get an SQL server to put up a forum. Not much progress on anything else, ive been busy sleeping.

Try to imagine how upset i am at having missed Millencolin tonite. Not getting tickets sucks, and i wish it had been at chain, not the glasshouse, so i could have justified driving there to not get in. Ah well, life goes on. This update has taken 3 hours because im not paying attention to it at all. i look up and suddenly its 4:33am, and im still not done with this (the exactly 3 hours thing is kinda spooky actually). My laptop is going in for some soundcard work next week (boo), but i should have my new box running by then (yay), so its all good. Um, aside from that, i appologize that i have had no time to get work done on things, i wish someone would take local scenes off my hands, cuz i really dont have time for the site news, events, and whatnot as it is, let alone keeping up with everything going on locally. I suppose that im just rambling on now. Its late, what do you expect. Come back soon people, things'll be working. Turning this blasted thing off for awhile, G'nite....

Gettin my Update On. -Mike Mir[7.16-2:53am]

Things slowly get done here. While i didnt have the time or energy to do anything on the page these past few weeks, slowly stuff seems to be getting completed. A Project R3 page is going to be up soon, the events section has been pretty consistently updated, the local scene page keeps getting worked on (nothing's been uploaded yet for it), and we actually recorded some things. I still feel like an ass for not having a host anymore, its very belittleing for me to be on geocities, but i dont have the hookups to get hosted, and sputnicks kinda a bum about that. Its okay tho, the inferiority complex that it gives me is less important than having the ability to do whatever i want with the webpage and never have deadlines or be required to output something.

Heres the status of the website:
News, and events are current and working. Music News ought to be updated soon, i have bemis on it. Bands is an ongoing project that is in its early stages. Downloads dont work until we have a webhost. Media is up, i'll try and find some new pictures to upload. Local Scenes is about finished, and will be up real soon. Forum cant go up without a webhost cuz it requires a SQL server. I may switch back over to ezboard or a service like that if we arent hosted soon. About/FAQ dont get changed often, i probably will update the "history" soon tho, because its been some months. Contact info is all still there. Project R3 is just a summary of the plans for that. It's another ongoing project that wont be up for awhile.

Other than that, the PORN crew is doing well, keeping busy this summer thus far. Give us an email or IM to see whats up or just to say hi! Love and Hugs (stole that line from sput). G'nite people.

  Inferno. -Mike Mir[7.11-3:17pm]

July. A month of sweltering inconsistency. The morning is cold and muggy, by the afternoon i feel like im being flash fried. Well, Mir's review on A.I.- mostly crap. Some interesting parts, but in general, it was not worth the admission i didnt pay for it. and the ending, ugh. Anywho, PORN's still on hiatus, feel free to offer to host us. I did a lil work on the local scenes section, i may have it done by the end of the weekend, but no promises. Go party people, seeya soon.

Sorry about the inactivity. -Mike Mir[7.09-7:36pm]

Okay people. It turns out summer school is more taxing on me than i expected, not that its hard, i just have to be up at 7:30 everyday, 6 days a week. Its over in a week tho, so thank god for that. PORN was at the Upsyndrome/Rufio/Audio Karate show on Saturday night at Chain Reaction, it was damn good. Bemis and I recorded a swingers club afterwards, so that'll go up whenever we have a server. Sunday, i had the pleasure of seeing Ozma, which was an awesome show all around. Sputnick's shoutcast has been up as of late, so try listening to it by clicking the link in the right column that says 'Sputnick'. Someone sign up to do the god damn local scene for me, cuz i dont have time for this shit. After summer school, ill get to work on the bands section, i swear to god i will. Other than that, the site is basically worthless until skapunx goes back up or someone decides to host us. Things for you people to do while you wait- support Project R3, send me emails, make love, make war, sign up to do local scenes, learn to juggle, write your congressman, fight for your right to party! Love ya all.

The events page was updated, with a new challenge. Hooray.

  Project R3 day. -Mike Mir[6.22-11:19am]

Okay, so the contest was a bust, it got postponed due to lack of participation. There will be plenty of other times for me to drive around naked. Anyways, today is, if you've been following the countdown, the unveiling of Project R3. If i cared, i would've made up some impressive graphic or flash or something. Instead, you get this, until more work can be done on it:

The Punk.Online.Radio.Network presents
Project Reactor Three (R3)

How many times have all of us South Orange County kiddies had to drive to North County, or LA, or even San Deigo to see an awesome band play? Lets face it, while there are a few local "spots" for bands to play at, there is NO definitive South County venue. This is Orange County, California people, with one of the largest punk rock populations on the planet. Why is the only place around here to play Chain Reaction? (Chain is, of course, an awesome venue). So, we present to you, the show-going fans out there, a proposition; Bring punk rock to south county, and support a venue. It benefits everyone, bands will get a place to play, labels will get a place to promote, and fans will get a badass venue.

The name: "Reactor Three" is our thought for a name, for several reasons. #1- it is the reactor in chernobyl that exploded (and while not a good thing for millions of northern europeans, it kinda goes along with our whole "Cosmonaut" thing). #2- We will hope it will appeal to Chain "Reaction", since they are our beloved semi-local venue, and we want to work with them and have them back us, not compete against them in any way. #3- it sounds cool.

The Project: PORN plans on having location and floor plans and all that sort of thing drawn up, either by us or hopefully by professionals, depending on the cost. We will then present these plans to a number of prominant music and punk rock related businesses in the area, as well as other nearby venues such as our friends at Chain. Assuming we recieve approval, and maybe even some financial backing, we will then present the plans to local bands and labels, and then larger bands and labels, and see if they approve. (All plans will be uploaded online, so everyone will be able to see them). Now, with all this done, the major obsticle would still be "wheres the money coming from". This we dont know yet, we've considered different plans, everything from asking for funding from bands, to a full on corporation type deal, with stock and shit. While i dont think the second one will be happening, we've decided to face one hurdle at a time, and get through the planning stage first.

The Goal: A South County venue that benefits everyone; bands, labels, businesses, fans.

So anyways, thats what you've all been waiting for. Doesnt seem like that big of a deal right now, but it is the beginning. Hopefully a few months down the road, this may be a little more of a reality. Please send us some thoughts on this, email or IM, check the contact section. Thats it for now, I'll probably update again tonite. Adios!
