Committees All church committee members shall be recommended by the nominating committee and elected by the church, unless otherwise indicated in the description below. The committees shall be nomiinated and elected annually. Constitution and By-Laws Committee This committee shall consist of three (3) members. The chairmanshall be nominated by the nominating committee and elected by the church. 1. The Chairman shall select two (2) other people to serve on the committee. 2. An in-depth study of the needs of the church will be made in regards to the Constitution and By- Laws. 3. This documetn will inclide the following prodeedures: a. For calling a pastor b. Voting principles c. Voting quorums d. Church meetings e. Support and cooperation with the Austin Baptist Association f. Support and cooperation with the Southern Baptist Association g. Support and cooperation with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. h. Mission support i. Mission giving j. Parlimentary procedures for business conferences, incliding requirements for a called business meeting. (Roberts Rules of Order shall be used as a guide.) k. Role of pastor and deacons l. Role of church elected officers and committees m. Church calender n. Receiving and de-mitting members o. Church ordinances -- Lord's Supper and Baptism p. Other general and pertinate concerns that affect the life and fellowship of the church. Publicity Committee This committee shall consist of two (2) members. 1. Committee respinsible for letting the public know about Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. 2. Committee will publicize all regualr and special events of the church. a. Committee shall use radio, T.V., when possible on special events. b. Posters in church, bullentin annoucements, and other methods may be used on regualr events. 3. Committee shall meet monthly to make plans for futre activities and publicity. Nursery Committee The Nursery Committee shall consist of three (3) members. The Nursery Coordinator will serve as chairman. The Nursery Committee will be nominated by the nominating committee and elected by the Church. 1. The committee will provide adequate aduly coverage to the nursery for all regualr scheduled activites of the Church, i.e. Sunday School, Church Training, Wednesday prayer service, revivals and other Church activities as approved by the church. 2. Small groups activites such as Sunday School sicials will provide nursery coverage and or compensate nursery attendant for this care. 3. All nursery use wil be coordinated with this committee. 4. This committee will be responsible for needed supplies of the nursey. 5. Committee shall contact building and grounds committee when repair or other construction is needed. 6. The committee will be responsible for displaying the nursery policies. Youth Committee The Youth Committee shall consist of three (3) married couples nominated by the nominating committee and elected by the Church. 1. This committee will plan and maintain a calendar of activities for all the youth of the church. 2. It will cooroperate and chaperone all youth activities sponsered by the Church whether on the calender or spontaneous. 3. It will coordinate bus needs with the bus committee. |
