The French horn section presently consists
of 5 students, the SL and her other 4 members who are active
players in the band. We organize section lunches occasionally
and have section outings with the seniors. During band practices,
we have sectionals and combined practices. During sectionals,
the more senior players will take the juniors and coach them
in their playing, which after a while the whole section will
assemble and practice together. To help to improve our unity,
we will write small notes of encouragement to each, and when
the section plays well, the section leader will award them
with some candies during the next band practice. Together,
the French horn section goes through thick and thin and we
strive to a stable and independent section in the band.
