Public Outreach and Input Meetings

During late April and early May 2004, three public outreach and three public input meetings were held on different days of the week at Cornell firehouse, Medway Grapeville firehouse and Town Hall.

New Baltimore Now - At the public outreach meetings participants were presented with information to help them understand where we are as a community and where we are headed. This information was drawn from census and town records and included information about population, income, building and subdivision permits, town finances and more. You can review some of this information about New Baltimore Now by clicking here. (More information will be added as time and technical ability permit. If someone would like to help out with this website contact [email protected])

New Baltimore Future - Participants also viewed a video called "Community of Choices" that hlped us to understand the choices that communities can make and emphasized the point that a community can both grow and protect the things that make it special. To view a summary of some of the key points in the video click here. If you would like to borrow the video to view yourself, or show your group or friends contact [email protected].

Public Input on Image - One key point from the video is that the image of a community is vitally important to its economic well being. At the public outreach meetings people were asked to provide input about the image of New Baltimore. To view a summary of input on image - click here.

Public Input on what peple like about New Baltimore and would like to keep, and what they would like to see changed. At the second set of meetings, small groups discussed what people like about New Baltimore that we should keep, what they would like to see changed and what we might do as a community to keep what we like and change what we think needs to be imporved.. The groups had lively discussion and generated a lot of good ideas. Each group of residents then presented their ideas to the whole group and everyone used colored dots to indicate what they thought was most improtant.
