Results of Community Survey How the survey worked The survey was mailed to 1170 property owners in November 2004. There were 338 responses (29%) which is a good return for a mail out survey. The data was tabulated and checked to assure that it was entered correctly. Demographic data from the survey was compared to census data and other location of residence information to confirm that that the survey results are valid for the population surveyed. The results were tabulated and graphic presentations were prepared. Additional tabluations were conducted to identify significantly different responses from people living in different parts of town and different responses based on how long people have lived in town. The data was analyzed and provided the basis for drafting vision and goals. Key Findings There is much more agreement than disagreement about what is important and the role the town should play in helping the community to achieve its desied future. The results similar for all parts of town and for new and long time residents. While there are statistically significant differences, the similarities are more sriking. We like our town the way it is. We want the Town government to help in protect our quality of life. Overall, we are satisfied with the quality of our public services.
