Genesis

In October 2000, the following issues were raised by members of the public at a meeting organised by Genesis:

Graffiti

Anti-social behaviour

Lack of facilities

Bonfire

Consultation from statutory agencies, i.e. NIHE, CBC etc.

Attitude of the RUC

Playground facilities

Genesis have addressed all of the above issues. Work is ongoing to some of them.

Graffiti has been removed from within and around the Killicomaine area.

Anti-social behaviour—Genesis have been working with the youth and others from the area to address the problem, this work will be ongoing.

Lack of facilities– plans are being developed to upgrade areas within the Killicomaine estate.

Bonfire– This years bonfire has passed off peacefully.

Consultation from statutory bodies– Genesis have contacts with the relevant authorities and will pass your views on to them.

Attitude of the RUC– members of the group have participated in meetings with the RUC to represent the views of those concerned with the attitude of the RUC. The RUC have been reciprocative in relation to events during July, which helps to create a peaceful atmosphere.

If you would like to become a member of Genesis please post your details with your name, address and phone number to 10 Ulsterville Grove and a member will contact you as soon as possible.
