Miniature Crazy Quilted Landscape
      Construct a small work of landscape art from new and recycled fabric. We will recycle prom gowns and silk clothing., combining them with quilter's cotton fabrics to create a scene with depth and texture. Burn a few edges, and quick applique the rest. Lavishly embroder the tiny fabric top with simple techniques to create a complex look. Put the icing on the quilt with delectable beads, buttons, crystals, bits of jewelry, charms and any other tiny treasures you desire. Basic Beading Techniques Workshop
  Practice basic beading by hand on fabric. Techniques include the backstitch, beaded crazy quilt stitches, and stop stitches. Top it off by beading on a coin, lace, and fancy yarn. Work on a small stitch sampler, and view small quilts made with demonstrated stitches.  Many tips shared for giving your beaded quilt a professional look.    Three hours

Leafy Mola - Reverse Applique by hand
       The Kuna Indians of the San Blas Islands in Panama developed the wonderfully intricate folk art applique called Molas for women's blouses. This small version of a Mola uses 2 layers of fabric hand-stitched with a combination of applique and reverse applique. A simple foliage design exposes solid, hand-dyed or batik fabric beneath a top layer in black. Splashes of other colors are inserted or appliqued as desired.            Three hours
      Fast, fun and fabulous! Explore raw-edge multi-layer aqqlique combined with couching for a terrific new look. Create an 8" simple curved nine patch as a warm-up. End the session with a fabulous 15" block. Sewing machine capable of a zig-zag stitch required.        Three hours

      Use up heaps of scrap strips and turn them into quick quilt tops. Piece a wall hanging or a lap quilt in a day.     Six hours

Socks should fit - and your will! Learn sock anatomy by knitting a small sock, then plan a custom pair to fit your feet. Participants should know how to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and cast off. Six hours or two three hour sessions.

End the frustration of not having that perfect tool at midnight! Make knitting needles, stitch markers, a center pull ball cone, and other fun tools from household items. Dye a hank jof wool in lovely colors using food-grade dyes. Three hours.
