Basic Beading on Fabric Techniques
Workshop Supply List
with Patti Shreiner
Students will supply:
     basic hand sewing kit
     mechanical pencil
     small ruler at least 6" long
     muslin 12"x12"
     cotton batting 12"x12"
     small coins, polished stones, tiny mirror or other small flat objects to be                  stitched onto the fabric
     size 11 and/or size 8 seed beads, 1/2 tsp. of at least 3 colors
     very small quantities of an assortment of other beads
     bugle beads,  at least 1 tsp.
     8-12" of decorative yarn (to be couched down)
    * Nymo beading thread
    * #10 sharps needles
    * Thread Heaven or beeswax
    Optional: If you have any problems with tension you may wish to use a 7"-               10" embroidery hoop or up to 11" Q-snap frame

*Some supplies will be available for sale during the workshop.
Teacher will supply: pattern, handouts, tulle, and wire

Workshop Description: Make a practice piece of beaded stitches on fabric. Gain confidence in your beading while learning about different size beads, types of beading thread, and tips for beading on quilts.
Skill Level: advanced beginner, should be familiar with hand sewing
Class Size and Length: Limit of 24 students; 3 hours (half-day)
