The End

Fortunately, we made it back to Georgetown in time. We packed ourselves and all our gear back into a minibus and Frank was nice enough to drop us all off at our homes.

During our minibus ride home we all co-ordinate the trading of photos and congratulated ourselves on the journey. This is when Pat, Brian, and Travis all independently approached me and commented about how much of a 'trooper' I was and how glad they were to have me on the hike. At which point I jokingly wondered what they thought of me before the hike.

What an incredible adventure. ALL my clothes were still wet and ALL contained that musty, stinky smell but I felt renewed and refreshed. When I arrived at my house, the first thing I did was take a shower. My landlord dropped by and picked up my rent and we sat outside talking about a rather new development - the protests in Buxton over the killing of an Afro-Guyanese citizen by police.

Oh well, back to the grind of being in town. Still, the sunsets here are nice and I can't complain. I love my life!
