ComCrypt 4000 - ComCrypt 4000M

The patch is referred to the decoders of type "ComCrypt 4000" or "ComCrypt 4000Μ". The model is shown at the front of the device.
  • We open the box by removing the two metal screws at the bottom.
  • We remove the four black screws at the back of the device on the two scart connectors as well as the four metal ones from the transformer on the board.
  • We remove the board by pushing outwards the plastic hooks that hold it.

At the left bottom of the board (components side) is printed the Revision of the circuit and looks like: 'CC 4000 Rev. 1.X' . If there is no such thing then look for a multi digit number at the solder side.

If the circuit is revision 1.3 ( CC 4000 Rev. 1.3 ) or if there is the multi digit number: 8211-248-42763 at the solder side, then we follow the instructions below:

  • From pin 18 of the Delta chip starts a copper line witch splits in two in a certain point. We cut it at the point that goes to the cpu board and connect to ground the pin of the cpu board that this line goes to.
  • We cut the copper line of pin 32 of the Delta chip.
  • We connect pin 33 with pin 20 of the Delta chip.
  • We connect pin 22 with pin 23 of the above chip.

If the circuit is revision 1.4 ( CC 4000 Rev. 1.4 ) then:

  • We remove (with care not to touch the battery) 'J79'.
  • We turn the board over, remove 'JS30' and connect to ground the pin that goes to the cpu board.
  • We connect pin 22 with pin 23 of the Delta chip.

If the circuit is revision 2.3 ( CC 4000 Rev. 2.3 ) then:

  • We connect with a wire 'J93' with 'J95' (it's next to the Delta chip).
  • We turn the board upside down and remove the jumper 'JS11' witch is located near pin 20 of the Delta chip.
  • We connect pin 22 with pin 23 of the above chip.

If the circuit is revision 2.4 then:

  • We connect with a wire 'J75' with 'J81' (it's next to the Delta chip).
  • We turn the board upside down and remove the jumper 'JS11' witch is located near pin 20 of the Delta chip.
  • We connect pin 22 with pin 23 of the above chip.

If the circuit is revision 3.1 (4000M) then:

  • We locate pad 831 and cut the copper line at that point.
  • We connect pin 10 with pin 9 of ic-302.
  • We assemble the device again because there is no further information about how to crack this version at the moment!

We connect the decoder with the mains power and turn on the television set without forgetting to connect the antenna also. Watch out the current !!!

The system will automatically start after 20 seconds. The image should be clear and stable but changing it's polarity from time to time. It is important for the signal to be strong. An outdoor antenna is recommended.

If it is all right and we don't mind the change of the polarity, we stop here and assemble everything. Else.

We read the document that refers to the polarity.
