Cable Crypt

The patch is referred to the "Cable Crypt" type decoders. The model type is printed on the front face of the box.

  • We turn the box upside down and we remove with the pliers the special screw witch is located under the scart and by removing the two warranty stickers and by pushing the notches witch are underneath, we remove the top cover of the device.
  • We remove the three black screws at the back of the device and the four silver ones witch hold the transformer.
  • We desolder the metal cover of the box that is located at the back of the display and we see underneath the ic-503. It is the 'Delta 5.4'.
  • Having given enough space to the mains cable, we remove the pcb by pushing outwards the plastic notches that hold it and turn it upside down.
  • We remove the metal plate underneath 'Delta 5.4'. Warning : it's not soldered, we just straighten up with the pliers the notches that hold it and we pull it up.
  • We remove from pin 18 of 'Delta 5.4' the copper lines from both sides.
  • We remove from pins 23, 32, 33 the copper lines witch connect them to the rectangle chip. - Careful here not to scratch by accident any lines near them.
  • We connect pin 22 with pin 23 of 'Delta 5.4' and if there is a wire between pin 23 and ic-506, we remove it.

We connect the decoder with the main power and turn on the television set without forgetting to connect the antenna also. Watch out the current !!!

The system will automatically start after 20 seconds. The image should be clear and stable but changing it's polarity from time to time. It is important for the signal to be strong. An outdoor antenna is recommended.

If it is all right and we don't mind the change of the polarity, we stop here and assemble everything. Else.

We read the document that refers to the polarity.
