Eng’g student robbed at AIT
A UP College of Engineering student was held up morning of December 3 at the footbridge between the UP Asian Institute of Tourism (AIT) and the College of Human Kinetics.
UPDP reports state the suspect, armed with a .38 caliber gun, confronted the victim and demanded for his L71 Motorolla cellphone worth P6,300, his wallet with P700 cash, and some important documents. The suspect ran away with the items and rode a Fairview-bound jeepney.

Minors arrested for theft
Five minors were reportedly caught stealing three gas stoves and a grill metal in the auxiliary kitchen of AIT on November 23.
The guard on duty said the suspects passed through an unused hole of a non-functioning airconditioner unit. Four suspects ran away, leaving a 12-year old boy in the hands of the UPDP.
Meanwhile, four minors roaming around the university snatched a Nokia 3300 cellphone worth around P3,000 owned by a Catherine Sto. Domingo, third-year student from the College of Arts and Letters.
Three security guards and a Special Security Brigade (SSB) guard chased the suspects from Palma Hall to the old University Registrar building. The item was recovered and a 12-year boy was brought to UPDP.
In compliance with the RA 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, the two minors were then turned over to their respective barangay centers. Both were released after being required to attend a diversion program, which includes counseling and attending Saturday tutorials.
