Hello friends! Would you like an introduction? Well, before I became a Christian, I was very upset all of the time. I let little things bring me down. I'm going to use the word depressed. That's how I often felt. I grew up in church. I was about twelve when I fully accepted and understood what it means to have Jesus in my life. He's something to rely on, my shelter and my leader. I didn't know much about him, but the things I did know, I loved. Jesus brought good into my life. Whenever something bad would happen, I prayed and kept my head up. Why be upset when you can have hope for a new start? Whatever the situation was, God helped me. He gives me trials that make me stronger, and realize my need for him. It takes time. I figured that I must be patient and let God work in my life. When I was demanding, I was only hurting myself. God sees this and backs off.
God has reason for everything. I must genuinely love him and praise him for the things that He has already done. If I wanted something, and it was truly His will, then He would gladly give it to me. For example, I'm hungry right now. I would like some food to eat. If I wait, I can go home and have whatever is in the cupboards. That would satisfy me. I must recognize my situation, and know what to do. Of course I can't just pray for a steak and have it magically appear right in front of me. God doesn't work like that. I have to look at the bigger picture and find out what it is that I can do, rather than what I want God to do. He loves me and he lives in me. Hes the main part of my life. He blessed me with my family, my house, my friends, everything! I am grateful and happy that I have these things. They all come from God, because God is good. I wake up every morning with joy and fire in my heart because it's yet another day to serve my King! We are all His princes and princesses, and we dont even realize it. We are so valuable and precious in His sight.
I will tell you. It's not easy at first. People will look at you differently. Some will ridicule you, and others will accept you. There are a lot more Christians out there than we think, we just haven't really looked for them yet. There are also people out there that are Christians in secret, because they try their best to hide it in the real world. Forget the world! It has nothing to offer us! We need to encourage those Christians because they are our brothers and sisters. I live my life in hopes of going to Heaven, because we dont have to be forever in this chaos. I strive for perfection and eternal life that Jesus offers us if we choose to leave our old ways and follow Him.
Do you fully understand why Jesus died on the cross? Im sure youve heard many different stories, so I'll simplify it as much as possible. Jesus knew what his purpose was. He was born to save mankind, and he was a human, just like us. He was God's son, which meant that he was holy; holy means to be pure and without blemish.
Let's go back to Adam and Eve. She sinned, and then Adam did. Sin is anything that is against God. From then on out, every time a child is born, it has a sinful nature. That doesn't mean that we are bad people, it just means that we are natured to sin. It's practically instinct. This can explain why childbirth is so painful. It's not a sin to have a baby, but the pain is from the result of sin. Remember that sin is anything against God, so when Eve ate that fruit that God told her not to eat she sinned. Sometimes we don't know when we sin. Sometimes we do, and regret it. Jesus came into the world, from God, and lived a perfect life. He died at age 33 for everybody in the world, even you. He wants us to repent, which means to turn from our old ways and receive forgiveness for our wrongs. We learn lessons from repenting, and this way we will try not to do what we did again. Hardships can be thought in a positive sense. God allows bad things to happen to us so that we realize that we NEED Him! He wants us to run to Him, because he is our Heavenly father. Why try to impress our peers with things that we know are wrong? The only person we should be trying to impress is God, because He is going to be the only one that can save us in the end. It will all be worth it when we get to Heaven.
God separates himself from us, because He is perfect, and we are not. If we dont repent, then we can't expect God to everything. Repenting has insurance, too. Jesus' death on the cross is insurance that we are always forgiven, no matter what we do. If you ever think, "God could never forgive me." Then that's just like saying, "What Jesus did on the cross wasn't good enough." And that's NOT true at all.
Finally, I come to the conclusion of my introduction. God did not give us the knowledge to know everything. So, another advantage to being a Christian is that when we have those mind-boggling questions about life that not even the greatest philosopher could answer, when we get to Heaven, we can ask God, and He will tell us. He has no limits, because He's God! He knows everything! This is another reason to have faith and hope in Him. This is another reason to love Him.
"The LORD wants everyone to come to repentance." -2 Peter 3:9
Live each day to its fullest, as if it were your last day on Earth. Enjoy life! It's a gift! Embrace the good things. Be positive and happy about what is yet to come!
Q: What if I am a Christian and I feel lonely? I feel sad because I chose God's ways and not my own. I dedicated my life to God and it feels hopeless. -Being a Christ follower isn't always pie and ice cream. We face hardships all of the time. These are spiritual attacks from the enemy. He is trying to bring us away from good things because he hates us. It could also be this way because we are homesick and want to run spiritually into the arms of Jesus. Being in the world and away from God is quite saddening at times. This is why we sing psalms like, Draw me close to you... Never let me go... ♫ Complaining strains our joy and affects those around us. Praise the Lord instead of putting that good energy to waste. It's so worth it!
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair." -2 Corinthians 4:8
It is God's will for us to be thankful all of the times no matter what the circumstances are!
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.
