AUGUST 30, 2008 UPDATES

  • Emily Ragrario-Grefenkamp

Please welcome former PGCHS student, Emily Ragrario-Grefenkamp. Emily was my classmate in second year. She found my name in the "Names Database", posted a short message and waited for my response. That's the magic of new technology. Emily and her family (husband and 3 kids) vacationed in Northern California last June 27 to July 8. They proceeded south (near Los Angeles) and ended their Western American trip in Las Vegas. We had a short reunion (in my house) last July 4. She was not able to see Agnes, Ando or Rani on their suceeding trip to Southern California. Below are photos taken during our meeting. Please click the photo to view at a magnified scale.

Below are photos sent by Emily showing her husband Jeorg and 3 beautiful children.

  • Polangui Fiesta Celebration in Southern California

Rani has sent additional photo of the June 28 fiesta celebration at La Mirada Park California. He also included 2 photos of his family. Check Rani's updates by clicking the photos below.

June 28 is fiesta time for our beloved town, Polangui. Polanguenos based in Southern California celebrated this year's fiesta far away from home - bringing plenty of foods and laughter at the beautiful La Mirada Park. Two of class 77 graduates were present to celebrate with them. They're no other than forever handsome (tisoy daw siya) Fernando "Ando" or "Sunday" Almuena, and, pogi in his own right Apolinar "Rani" Mella. Below photos were taken by Ronald Buenaventura, the eldest son of Myrna from San Diego. He is also the grandson of Felisa (Tia Isang) Sabate-Sangat. I've met this super nice family during my 1996 US trip (my first time to set foot on Uncle Sam's land). My Aunt, Tia Terry Tuanqui-Saldivar is their neighbor. At that time, Tio Adoy Sangat was still alive (bless his soul!). I'm very fond of them, not only because Tia Isang is the Godmother of my late younger sister Mary Jean (she passed on at the age of 20 in 1988) but because they're really such lovable family. Also, her sister Tia Crising is a neighbor in Napo. Enjoy the photos and identify the Polanguenos you know. Many thanks to Ronald for the beautiful photos!

JANUARY 6, 2008 UPDATES - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • Wenonah Ante's Latest Update

Happy new year to all! I wish everyone the best of everything - good health, wealth and happiness! I received a Christmas greeting (with new photos) from Wenonah who is currently based in Gaeta, Italy. Before coming to Italy, she went to a fiesta and met several PGCHS graduates. Here are the pictures she took during the affair. Please meet new faces of PGCHS graduates. Click the photo to go to the page with corresponding description. Enjoy!

JULY 6, 2007 UPDATES

  • Tony's Photos from his vacation in Polangui and Manila

Here are the photos taken by Tony during his (and his family's) vacation in the Philippines. I saw Tony and his youngest daughter in a lunch time gathering with my friends, which included Efrencita Saquido, Gil Baylon and Malou Riofrio-Competente. Enjoy Tony's new photo sessions with our classmates based in Polangui (Elenita Sanao, Nelly Sapo, Patrick Calpe and Cornelio Cunanan) and Manila (Marilou Riofrio, Gil Baylon, Ariel Orendain, Remus Rayel, Romeo Ebonite and Myrna Go).

  • Sandy Almuena & Family in San Francisco

After 30 years, I've finally seen Ando Almuena in person. He and his family visited the Bay Area last Wednesday to see the July 4 fireworks in San Francisco and, of course, for a much needed R&R. They stayed at the Embarcadero and roamed the City by the Bay for 3 days. On their way home, they stop in our house in Burlingame. He's still handsome and young looking (Ha! Ha! Ha!). I met his lovely wife Bambit, kids (Dion and Dominique), his sister-in-law and niece. See by yourselves how handsome Ando looks now. Is there similarity between him and Piolo Pascual (or is it Pacquaio)??!? Be the judge classmates.

  • June 1-11 Philippine Vacation.

Jeff and I visited the Philippines from June 1 to 11, 2007. We attended my parents golden wedding anniversary last June 9. It was held in a small chapel in Ponso. While in town, I tried to contact Gilbert Gonzales and Elenita Sanao-Samblero. Unfortunately, we only shared a couple of text messages. During my entire stay in Polangui, I did not see or meet anyone from class 77.

On our way back to US (with more than 10 hours lay over in Manila), we met with my friends from Mapua. I included Gil and Malou in this pre-arranged meeting with my college friends. It's easy to get a reply from Gil and Malou - they're my e-mail pals. I had a big surprise. They invited Tony Sabaybay (who was also visiting from Canada) and Efrencita Saquido. A little update for Efrencita, she works at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila. Their presence really made my day. I was so happy seeing my good old friends again. We had a blast in Glorietta. Gil, Malou, Tony and Efrencita look great - just like when we graduated from high school. Of course, they're smarter and better looking now. Thank you Gil, Malou, Tony and Efren. I hope to see you again.

Here is a video taken for the grand reunion held April 2007. Thanks a lot Malou and Gil!

  • Rani Mella, Fernando Almuena and Agnes Lauraya-Revatoris

Fellow Class 77 member Rani Mella (and family members) had a "winter break" reunion with Agnes and Ando in a restaurant in Southern California. His family also visited Universal Studio.

  • Greetings from Samuel Benipayo - Class '78

Samuel sent photos of his trip to Brazil and Mexico last March 2007. He also met Mira in Washington DC. Mira resides in Baltimore - located near Samuel's current work assignment in the US capital. Mira and Samuel were both members of Diamond Section class 78.
