Those are operating systems for Microsoft company. The Windows up to version 95 were shells for MS-DOS. Versions 95 to 98 were still using DOS and had quite poor graphic. Versions 2000 , Me to XP   are the new generation of windows. Windows use graphical interface and can support a large hard disks.
