Poem
"Prisoner of Greed"
I am a puppy mill dog
Trapped in my small cage
Whining in the darkness
There is no escape
My mother is gone now
Taken to another place
They bred her too much
Then took her away
I am lonely, unloved, and sad
Uncared for, hurt, scratched, and unglad
My brothers, My sisters
Some are dead I guess...
Some are sold to pet shops
What If I am next?
I whimper because I'm hungry
No one seems to care
They don't even CLEAN this place
Despite my pitiful puppy stare
I'm squashed and cut by this horrible pen
Sitting in my own mess
Bleeding, crying, starved
Just like all the rest
I know I'm not the only one
There's tons of other puppies here
Suffering ever day
At this Prison of Greed I fear
So please just help me
Do what I can't
Don't buy from puppy mills
Because money is all they want
Do me a favor
And ask humans why
They are so sick, selfish, and greedy
To let poor animals suffer and die
