Maryland. Elections for open positions of the Board of Trustees and the

| Chand Raat - October

| The Pakistan Association held its popular
annual event, Chand Raat, on October 22, 2006 at the University of
Maryland, Shady Grove Center. As you know, the Chand Raat is an evening of
family fun, Eid shopping, mehndi, and great food to observe the close of the
month of Ramadan and prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-fitr. A record number of people
gathered for the celebration. |
| 7th Annual Spring
Dinner - April 18, 2006 |
|
The Pakistan Association held its 7th Annual Spring Dinner and
musical on April 18, 2006, at the Germantown Community
Center in Germantown, Maryland.
It was a fun-filled evening with
traditional Pakistani feast, songs, D.J. music and much more. The spring
dinner provided excellent opportunities for young professionals to
interact and net work in a relaxed environment. This year we had invited Sahal and Neetu,
to fill the evening with their mesmerizing singing.
A number of community friend including Ike Leggett joined us at the event.

of the Pakistan Association was held on December 10, 2005. The following were elected this year:

CHAND RAAT &
EID MELA - NOVEMBER 3, 2005 |

This year's Chaad Raat was a solemn
occasion, as we were deeply saddened at the death and destruction unleashed by
the earthquake in Pakistan. We decided to raise funds in aid of the quake victims
at the event.
Donations collected at the event were passed on to charities specifically
working for the
rehabilitation and rebuilding in the area. |
| Annual Pakistani
American Picnic - September 24, 2005, |
| The Pakistan Association held Annual Pakistani American picnic on September 24, 2005 at the Needwood
Lake Park in Rockville, Maryland. The picnic was an
afternoon of outdoor fun, entertainment and traditional Pakistani games. Besides
the barbeque members brought a number of side dishes to share. As before a
number of civic and political leaders from the larger community joined us at the picnic
and interacted in a
relaxed and informal setting. |
| India-Pakistan Peace
Rally - August 15, 2005 |
Pakistan Association was part of a joint India-Pakistan peace rally, held on
August 15, 2005 to celebrate independence days of both nations. Fifteen
organizations of the Indian and the Pakistani
community jointly observed the two independence days as a Peace Day at the
University of Maryland, College Park. The participants urged people in the two
neighboring countries to ensure that the current peace process does not falter
and signed a petition urging both governments to ease all restrictions on
cross-border travel at the earliest possible date. “We believe that when
people lead, the political leaders are duty bound to follow,” was the
unanimous message participants of the Peace Day celebration wished to convey
to people of the subcontinent. |
| 6th Annual Spring
Dinner - April 30, 2005 |
| The Pakistan Association’s 6th Annual Spring
Dinner held on April 30, was dedicated to the many initiatives for peace in the
South Asian. A number of friends from the South Asian community joined the
Pakistani American community in an effort to keep the momentum for peace in
South Asian going. Mr. Tufail Ahmad, Mr. Ali Nawaz Memon, Association’s two past
Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mall of North American
Christian Concern and Dr. Arjun Makhijani, from the Institute for Energy and
Environmental Research talked about the importance of people to people contacts
and civic organizations in promoting peace in the sub continent. Mr. Tufail
Ahmad and Ali Nawaz Memon were part of a 21-member Joint Indo-Pak Peace and
Goodwill Mission of expatriate Pakistanis and Indians living in U.S., Canada and
Britain, to visit Pakistan and India earlier this year. Dr. Arjun spoke about
the need for denuclearization of the sub-continent. The spring dinner was as
usual a fun-filled evening with traditional Pakistani feast, songs, D.J. music
and provided excellent opportunities for young professionals to interact and net
work in a relaxed environment. |

The Pakistan Association's popular
annual event, Chand Raat, woas held on November 12, 2004 at the University of
Maryland, Shady Grove Center. As always, it was a fun evening for
families, indulging in Eid shopping and great food. Mehndi stall were most
popular with the young as well as older women.

American-Pakistani Picnic - September 18, 2004 |
The Pakistan Association held its annual
American-Pakistani picnic on September 18, 2004 at Bohrer Park Gaithersburg,
Mary-land. Due to severe weather the event had to be moved inside the activity
center, where braving the elements over hundred Pakistanis and community
friends enjoyed an afternoon with family entertainment and variety of
traditional Pakistani food.
The annual event is usually an afternoon of outdoor fun, entertainment and
traditional Pakistani games. Each year a number of civic and political leaders
from the larger community are also invited. The event thus provides an
opportunity to interact with the larger community in a relaxed and informal
setting.
This year local elected officials who joined the Pakistani-American
community among others included: Congressman Chris van Hollan, Ike Leggett,
Steve Silverman, County Council President, and Council members Nancy Floreen,
George Leventhal, Denis Mike Knapp, Tom Perez, and Mayor of Gaithersburg
Sidney A. Katz. |
| 10th Annual General
Meeting - June 19, 2004 |
| The Tenth Annual General Meeting of the
Pakistan Association was held on June 19, 2004 at the Gilchrist Center in
Maryland. Elections were also held for open positions of the Board of Trustees
and the Executive Council of the Association. Each year members of the
Executive Council are elected for a one-year term. The following were elected
this year:
President Dr. Parvez Uppal, Vice President Mrs. Zahida Shah, General
Secretary Mrs. Roohi Siddique, Treasurer Mrs. Tahira Anwar.
Two trustees, Dr. Zaka Chowhan and Mr. Iftekhar Shah, were elected to the

| Independence Day
Celebrations - August 16, 2003 |
| Pakistan's independence day celebrations held in Tysons Corner
in Virginia, was a day full of fun, music, great shopping and delicious food.
The event, held in collaboration with the Community Voice TV, attracted not
only a large number of Pakistani Americans but also their friends from diverse
ethnic back grounds as well. |
| Exploring
Cultural Diversity at the Washington Mall - June 8,
2003 |
|
In this discovery trip to the Washington Mall, Pakistani women
had an opportunity to be away from their work and homemaking
responsibilities and have some fun and more importantly, be empowered to learn
and appreciate the similarities and dissimilarities of women from the same
culture and religion. The
participants could discover each other’s interests,
and find ways to later collaborate and mingle as opportunities arise.

| Asian American Heritage Celebration
- May
15,
2003 |
| Jointly hosted by the Pakistan Association and the Korean
American Association, the event was organized by the Multicultural Community
Partnership, supported by the NAACP Montgomery County Branch. Mr. Ali Nawz
Memon gave a talk on "Preserving the Asian Legacy," and Dr. Parvez
Uppal made a multimedia presentation on Pakistan. A number of Asian
organizations were representative at the dinner held at New Fortune Restaurant
in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Exploring Cultural Diversity at the Bowling Alley - May 10,
2003 |

Bowling is little unheard of, much so that most Pakistani women have not
been even gone to one. A day at the Bowl America, Gaithersburg,
Maryland was not only an opportunity to enjoy the game but most importantly was also
an opportunity for women to get together and enrich and foster their diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Schooling Concerns - a talk by Dr. Khalida Zaki- May 4,
2003 |
| Dr. Zaki, Professor of Sociology at Michigan State University,
explored the Muslim parents' concern of their teenage children and schools. In
order to integrate in the American system Muslim youth bear the hardest burden
to struggle with two cultures 'in-home' and 'out-side the home'; therefore it
is important to understand the complex ways in which these groups interact.
The questions arise: what do public school teachers do to accommodate the
needs of this diverse immigrant and refugee community? The seminar was held at the Muslim Community Center, Silver Spring
Maryland.

| SERVING FOOD TO
HOMELESS PERSONS - December 1, 2002 |
| The Pakistan Association joined a number of
community organizations in providing dinner to about 800 homeless persons on
December 1, 2002, at CCNV Homeless Shelter in Washington DC.
The following community organizations took part: Aligarh University Alumni
Association, Association of Indian Muslims, Bangladesh Association, Hyderabad
Association, Karachi University Alumni Association, Montgomery County Muslim
Council, and Muslim Community Center. |

Candidate Forum - October 30, 2002 |

The Pakistan Association of Greater Washington with the
Asian American Community cosponsored a Congressional Candidates Forum District
8, on October 30,2002 at the Winston Churchill High School, Potomac, Maryland.
Congresswoman, Connie Morella and the democratic
candidate Chris Van Hollen addressed the forum and answered questions
contributed by the community organizations. Besides, a number of Montgomery
County Council and Education Board candidates attended the forum.

| ETHNIC AMERICAN
FREEDOM CELEBRATION PICNIC - July 7, 2002 |
| Pakistan and American Independence Day was
jointly celebrated at a picnic on July 7, 2002 at Bohrer Park (Summit Hall,
Gaithersburg, Maryland). It was an afternoon showcasing the ethnic diversity
of America in the commemoration of Independence Day. A large number of people
from diverse ethnic backgrounds joined the Pakistani-American community in
traditional games and music and Pakistani food and were entertained by
fascinating display of folk dances and Pakistani dhol. A number of civic and
political notables mixed and mingled with the community in a relaxed
environment. The
event was partly sponsored by the Institute of Diversity and Multicultural
Affairs at Bowie State University.

| YOUNG PROFESSIONALS'
SOIREE - June 29, 2002 |
| The Fifth Annual Spring Dinner for young
professionals and students, with the theme, "A Celebration of
Diversity," was held on June 29, 2002.
It was an exciting and lavish night at the ballroom of the Holidays Inn at
Tysons Corner, Virginia. The participants including a large number of first
generations Pakistani-American gathered to exchange ideas, share common
interests, and network with other young professionals from in and around the
region. Program included ethnic dance presentations, traditional dhol and
poems of peace and harmony. The event was funded in part by the Institute of

5, 2002 |
| The Pakistan Association with DC Collective
and a number of supporting civil organizations and human rights groups held a
joint peace rally and vigil in front of the Indian and Pakistani embassies in
DC to urge the two governments to find a peaceful solution to the current

| WOMEN'S CONFERENCE -
May 19, 2002 |
| 2002 Women's Luncheon Meeting was held on May
19, 2002 at Rio Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The
theme of the conference was, "Women's Role In Today's Diverse
Society." A number of civic activist participated in the discussions and
include Ms. Amber Khan, Ms. Ruby Ruebens Ms. Jeannie Gong, and Ms. Alfreda
Gill. The meeting was sponsored by the Pakistan Association and The Institute
of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Bowie State University. |
| EID CELEBRATIONS -
March 9, 2002 |
| The Pakistan Association organized a
fun-filled family evening to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on Saturday, March 9, 2002.
The famous local Pakistani entertainment group of Asad Kamal made it a
memorable evening. A key feature of the evening was the surprise appearance of
Mr. Khalid Nizami, the famous Pakistan TV comedian who became a celebrity for
his memorable roles in a number of PTV dramas like Ankahi and Shahzori. See

| Pakistan American
Community Fund Raising Event - November 11, 2001 |
| UNITED WE STAND
Pakistan Association participated in a fund raising dinner in collaboration
with the local community organizations. The event was held on November 11,
2001 at Doubletree Hotel Tysons Corner in Virginia. Guest Speakers included a
number of representatives from the US state Department.
The following Pakistani- American organizations took part in the event:

- Association of Pakistani Scientists and Engineers of North America (APSENA)

| ROUNDTABLE COMMUNITY
MEETING - OCTOBER 7. 2001 |
| The tragic events on the 11th September have
shaken the world around us. The current period may turn out to be a defining
moment in the course of history. Closer to us it may also prove to be a
defining moment for the Pakistan American community. The burning question for
the community is, "how are we going to deal with the aftermath of this
event in the near and long run."
In order to address this question, the Pakistan Association held a
community round table meeting on Sunday October 7, 2001at the Summit Hall in
Gaithersburg.
The purpose of this meeting was to seek community input in formulating
strategic alternatives for the community and energize our resources to
effectively plan activities and programs in the light of current situation. Or
in other words what are the concrete steps the community could be taking. In
view of the consensus arrived at the meeting the Pakistan Association is
initiating and developing a number of activities and programs. |

| The 7th Annual General Meeting of
the Pakistan Association was held on August 5, 2001 at the Potomac Community
Center, Potomac, Maryland. Elections for open positions
of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Council of the Association were
also held. The following are the election results:
A: Trustees – Board of Trustee comprises six Trustees
with staggered terms. The Association elects two Trustees each year. This year
the two Trustees elected, each for a three-year term, are Mr. Tufail Ahmed and

| FOURTH ANNUAL
SPRING DINNER - MAY 19. 2001 |
| The Pakistan Association held its
fourth Spring Dinner for young professionals and students on Saturday,
May 19, 2001 at Summit Hall, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This year we also
took the opportunity to also honor Mr. Saghir Tahir, Representative, New
Hampshire State House of Representatives at the Spring Dinner. Mr. Tahir
is a Pakistani born first generation immigrant who has achieved the distinction
of holding the highest elected office in the Pakistan-American community.
The program consisted of panel discussion with the theme “Role of Young
Professionals in the Community Development,” and is intended to be a thought
provoking exercise on the issues facing the Pakistani-American young generation.

| Eid-ul-Adha
Dinner - March 10, 2001 |
| The Pakistan Association celebrated Eid-Adha
on March 10, 2001 at Aabashaar Restaurant in Springfield, Virginia. There
was traditional Pakistani food and DJ music. A large number of Pakistan
Association members joined the party with their families and friends. A
number of young men and women were recognized for their volunteer work
for the Association. Professor Tahir Hussain, ex-Vice Chancellor of the
Azad Jammu & Kashmir University made the awards. More |

| The Association celebrated
Chand Raat December 26, 2000 at the Summit Hall in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
A large cross-section of Pakistani community enjoyed sampling traditional
food, shopping for the Eid and getting mehndi applications. The gathering
was entertained by the live band "Sur Celebration", with Aamir and Uzma
and Anwar Sheikh as MC. Raffle prizes and special gifts for the children
