Celebrate Chand Raat.
The
Pakistan Association of Greater Washington Metropolitan Area celebrated Chand
Raat on December 4, 2002 at the University of Maryland, Shady Grove center in
Maryland. As is its tradition, Pakistani-Americans enjoyed traditional food,
shopping for the Eid and getting mehndi applications as a live band
entertained. Raffle prizes and special gifts for the children were given out.
As
in the past a large number of of guests from our larger American community
joined in the festivities. A number of elected officials, both Democrat as well
as Republicans, attended the event, among the notables were MD Delegate elect
