The sweep mod is pretty much as easy as the vocal mod, only this
time its replacing the sweep capacitor (I think that is the right
terminology). So basically, like all these mods, they do what they
say on the tin. Change the sweep! The sweep cap is located lower than
the inductor and between resistors and it is brown/red in colour. It
shouldn't be too hard to find as there was only two on my board.
Usually you are looking for a 0.01uF cap. "Nice one, how the buggar
am I meant to know what the bloody hell one of those looks like?" I
hear you cry! Never fear! Like resistors, caps have codes on them
which usually look like:
L=Letter N=Number
LNL
NNNL
The lower three numbers are what you are looking at, for a 0.01uF
cap, the numbers are 103, the letter at the end is the tolerance I
think. A 0.1uF cap will be 104 due to the higher multiplier, but that
isn't really worth thinking about.
Stock value of my crybaby: 0.01uF
Suggested values: Lower will give more treble and higher less.
0.022uF is a good place to start, possibly lower.

So you whip the buggar out and replace it. This is also the component
of the 'Turner modification', see that page for how to make a switch
and how it works! Just pop the new cap in and away you go. The clips
were done with the sweep cap and the vocal mod (68k resistor)
