As I mentioned before, I bought a GCB-95 standard Jim Dunlop
Crybaby, only because it was cheap, easy to get a hold of and if it
all went to the shit house, it would be a good project to modify. I
started this website after I had done the mods and 'modified
backwards' so the wah went back to the spec it was when I got it, bar
the true bypass which I didn't want to modify back as it was a lot
more work than changing a couple resistors back to the originals.
Anyway, the clip format for this website goes
Clean/Overdrive/Distortion. Clean being the green spider, Overdrive
being orange and Distortion being red. Simple eh?
My first thoughts of the wah was that the high end when the pedal was all the way down was extremely harsh and metallic, which seems to be one of the annoyances to many guitar players. Second, the sweep is not even or long enough, there seems to be a hell of a lot of bass and the wah skips through all the beautiful midrange and gets too trebly too quickly.
Mods:
-True bypass
-Standard Crybaby cliips
-Vocal modification<
-Sweep mod
-Midrange modification
-Turner mod
-Information on inducctors
-Replacing an inductor/A>
