Jews who belong to an Ultra-Orthodox, Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, or Reconstructionist house of worship - as well as unaffiliated Jews, may join The Other Shul.
We do not ask subscribers about their beliefs. We assume that all subscribers accept the fact that this is a Jewish group, in which we discuss Jewish issues.
People may raise questions in good faith on this group, with the understanding that they are participating in a traditional Jewish group that accepts the Divinity of the Torah and of its commentaries.
The Other Shul is thus open without discrimination to Jews as defined by traditional Jewish texts and resources, even if they do not stipulate any specific Jewish affiliation.
It is also open to those who are not yet Jews, but who are considering the possibility of converting to Judaism. These people are encouraged to also join Jewish Beginnings.
