The Maltby Band Director

Michael K. Osborn, Director

Mr. Osborn has been teaching at Maltby Middle School since the fall of 1992. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree (BM), with honor, in Instrumental Music in 1992 and a Master of Music Degree (MM) in Music Education in 1999. Mr. Osborn is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the Maltby Bands. He also has served as an associate director of the Brighton High School Marching Band (1992-present).

Aside from being an avid Spartan enthusiast he is also involved in Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary Band Fraternity, serving on its National Board of Trustees and having recently served as its National President (2003-2005). Mr. Osborn is also an member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society, the National Band Association, Michigan State Alumni Association, Michigan State University Alumni Band Association, Association of Fraternity Advisors, and as an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma, the National Honorary Band Sorority
