
Tak is separated from her western
neighbor, Myanmar, by the Moei River,
which traverses nine otherprovinces in
Thailand.Nature lovers will enjoy visiting Tak. The Tak province is called
"The Dwelling of the Emerald Treasure"because of Tjung of Thung Yai
Naresuan and Um Phang, which are considered to be the finest waterfalls in all
of Thailand and possibly Asia.
The Thanon Thongchai Mountain Ridge divides the Tak province into two parts.
The east consists of the Muang Tak, Ban Tak, Sam Mgao and Wang Chao districts.
The western half is comprised of the Mae Sot, Mae Ramat, Tha Song Yang, Phop

Phumiphon Dam or raft down the Mae Tuen River. When visiting Sam Ngao, you
should be sure to take a day off to lounge around the Phumiphon Dam. Here, you
can slip into a de4ep slumber or float through Mae Ping Lake toward Doi Tao for
one hundred forty kilometers. Adventure lovers will find excitement rafting the
Mae Tuen River.
Phumiphon Dam
The first reservoir in Thailand with the
height of 154 meters, this Conctete Arch Gravity Dam is the largest dam in South
East Asia. It is also ranked as the eighth largest dam in the world. It was
built across the Ping River in the Sam Ngao District to produce electricity for
the people in that region. In addition to its utility, the dam provides
picturesque scenes of the rugged mountains and rivers. The upper section of the

Mae Tuen
Mae Tuen is originating in Omkoi green
land, Chiang Mai Province, and then feeding through Mae Tuen Wildlife Sanctuary

Um Phang, the land of adventure
The Thilosu Waterfall has always been
revered for its unique beauty. People from all over the world come to visit this
site of one of the highest falls in all of Asia. During your trip you can raft
down the Mae Klong River, go ashore at an authentic Daren Village and continue
trekking to Doi Hua Mod. This path is winding and challenging, but well worth
the effort.
