PHAYAO
Phayao
is
an old province of Thailand, established in 1095 by the King of Chiang Saen, In
the reign of King Ngum Muang, the lifestyle of the people was very prosperous.
In 1897 King Rama Bjoined Phayao to Chiang Rai
Probince, and in 1977 Phayao
was separated from Chiang Ray again and proclaimed to be one of the provinces of
Thailand,
Pharaoh has an overall area of 6,355
square kames and is administratively
divided into 7 Amp hoes (Districts) and 2 King Amp hoes (Sub districts): Amp hoe
Mooing, Chun, Chiang Khan, Chiang Moan, Dock Khan Tai, Pong, Mae Chain, King Amp hoe
Phi Kim Yak and King Amp hoe Phi Sang, Phayao is located 734 kms from Bangkok.

Kwan Phayoa
This natural lake, having cleat and cleam

Wat Analayo-Doi Busarakham
Is 17 kms north of the municipakity along Routes
1-1193. This beautifully decoraterd retreat has on area for Buddhist instruction
and meditation and another for relaxation.
Cultural Exhibition Hall
Is located near Wat Sri Khom Kham. Displays
of Phayao’s ancient chronicles, cultures and traditions are shown. The hall is
open on Wednesdays-Sundays from 9 am 4 pm except antional holidays Tel.

By Car
Take the Bangkok-Nakhon
Sawan-Phitsanulok-Denchai-Phrae-Ohayai Gughway fir 734 Kms
By Bus
The 10 hour journey from Bangkok can be
madeon aircindutuibed ciacges abd nin-aurcibdutuibed buses originating from the
Northern Bus Terminal on Bangkok’s Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road(Tel: 936-3667-8 for
further details).
By Rail
The State Railways of Thailand operate daily services from Bangkok’s
Hualampong Railway Station, including a popular overnight sleeper to Denchai (Changwat
Phrase). Then take a local bus to Pharaoh, some 141 kms away. Telephone Bangkok

Airways (Tel:
Bangkok/Lan Luang 280-0100-110, Angel Airlines (Tel:953-2260)
operates daily flights from Bangkok to Chiang Rai and then take a local bus to
