Our Souvenir “The Eye of the Sea"

In Greece we gave a good luck charm called “the eye of the sea”. It is very rare. It comes from the bottom pointy tip of a seashell which is carved out so as to end up with this small circular stone-like shiny object. There are two kinds: the red eye and the blue eye. The blue eye is even rarer. It brings good luck to those who find it. There is a myth which says that it was the eye of a male mermaid who protected the sea. Those that come into possession of it are also protected. It is usually used just like any other precious stone to decorate jewelry such as rings, necklaces and earrings.
